3. Find an “epic simile” on p. 837 and describe the comparison and the imagery in the lines that you quote.

4. Analyze the extended metaphor on p. 838 (lines 122-140). Explain the comparison being made.

5. Describe the conflict with Helios (p. 838-839) and the impact it had in the overall plot in The Odyssey Part 2.

6. Describe Eurylochus’s speech to Odysseus on p. 839. What is his message to Odysseus? What is his tone?

7. Compare/contrast Odysseus and his men. (Consider things like courage/leadership/skill)

8. On p. 840, quote a line that personifies hunger and thirst. What impact does the wording (diction) have on the reader?
