Prayer Topic #1:

A Prayer for the United States of America

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 97, Nehemiah 1

Reflections of the Heart:

The United States has been an impressive nation for generations. It is critical that we, as a nation, not think more highly of ourselves, but that we acknowledge the protection, provision, grace and mercy that God has extended towards us.

Scriptural Prayer:

Almighty Father, we thank You for blessing the United States of America with abundance and prosperity. Thank You for surrounding our nation with Your favor, grace, and mercy. Thank You for the liberties we have through the U.S. Constitution. Thank You for our military personnel who sacrifice greatly to protect our nation. God, You merely spoke and the heavens were created. You breathed the Word, and all the stars were born. You assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs. We praise Your Name forever and ever, for You possess all wisdom and power. Lord, You are glorious and more majestic than the everlasting mountains. You sit on Your holy throne and reign above the nations. All the kings of the earth belong to You. You are highly honored everywhere.

Heavenly Father, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in our nation. You said that if we commit our actions to You, You will cause them to succeed; therefore, we come submitting our leaders, economy and our military personnel to You. As we pray for President-Elect Donald Trump and all our leaders, we expect to live peaceful and quiet lives that are marked by Godliness and dignity. By faith, we declare that our leaders will trust in You with all of their hearts. They will not depend on their own understanding, but they will seek Your will in all they do and we expect that You, Lord, will show them which path to take when making decisions for the American people. Lord, we declare that You are our light and salvation. As Kingdom Ambassadors, we trust in You, we will not be afraid. God, You are our fortress, protecting us from danger so we will not tremble. We stand against the spirits of fear, suicide, and hopelessness and we destroy their assignments against our nation. We declare that every enemy or foe who comes to attack us will stumble and fall. We confess that we will find safety in the shelter of Your presence.

I commit to praying and interceding on behalf of our nation for the following issues:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, unite the Body of Christ to pray continually for our nation. Guide President-Elect Donald Trump and all our leaders as they govern and remind each of them that they should be working together for the good of the nation and not for the advancement of self. Please give them creative ideas and strategies to rebuild the economy, and address environmental, educational, health, and social dilemmas. Holy Spirit, we ask that You would minister to our leaders and continue to provide for their families. Please restore peace, joy and hope to our American citizens.

Merciful Father, we repent on behalf of our nation for all acts of sinfulness. We acknowledge that our actions have created problems that only You can solve. Forgive us for all sin, including disobedience, pride, greed, arrogance, selfish ambition, rebellion, hypocrisy, injustice, jealousy, hatred, violence, ageism, sexism, racism, and dissension. Father, forgive our nation for worshiping other gods and turning our backs on You. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, as a nation, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

You are the Lord, our God, and there is no other. No one is holy like You. No one is besides You. There is no Rock like You. Lord, You are the King of kings and Lord of lords. You rule and reign forever. Now, unto You, the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #2:

A Prayer for Salvation

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 99, Ephesians 2:1-10

Reflections of the Heart:

“The Blood of Jesus washes away our past and the Name of Jesus opens up our future.” Pastor Jessie Duplantis

Scriptural Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your tender mercies and unfailing love. Thank You for providing a way for sinners to be reconciled back to You. Thank You for enlightening our hearts to say “yes” to You when You called us. Lord, You are very great and Your power is absolute. Your understanding is beyond comprehension. We come clapping our hands and shouting joyful praises to You, our God. Most High, You are awesome. You are the great King of all the earth. We meditate on Your unfailing love as we worship in Your temple. Your Name will be praised to the ends of the earth. We honor You as our Lord and Savior.

Our Father, it is Your desire that all people be saved and understand the truth. We confess that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He is the only gate by which people are saved. We commit to sharing the Gospel with our unsaved family members, friends, co-workers and enemies. We will not be afraid or intimidated, but we will share the Good News of Jesus Christ with boldness, confidence and love. We declare that when our unsaved family members, friends, co-workers and enemies confess with their mouths, the Lord Jesus, and believe in their hearts that You raised Jesus from the dead, they will be saved. Father, we declare that they will know the truth, and the truth will set them free. As the Body of Christ, we gladly take the great commission and go into the world preaching the Good News to everyone You place in our paths. We are not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ because we know that it is Your power that is at work, saving everyone who believes.

Gracious Father, we cry out to You to clear the way so that Your Gospel may be preached in every city, state, country, and continent. Since the harvest is plentiful, continue to send laborers to proclaim Your Word of salvation to the unsaved. We ask You to remove the scales that keep them from seeing Your goodness and faithfulness. Surround them with the counsel of the Godly so that they may be washed in the water of Your Word; stripped of the old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds, and put on their new nature so that they will be renewed as they learn to know their Creator and become like Him. Holy Spirit, we ask You to circumcise the hearts of those who are in a backslidden state. Like the prodigal child, help them to come to themselves and return to You, their first love. Remind them that nothing can ever separate them from God’s love; not death, life, angels, demons, fears for today or worries about tomorrow, not even the powers of hell can separate them from the Father’s love. Help us, the Body of Christ, to present the Gospel with compassion, hope and patience.

List the people that you know who are unsaved or backslidden. Ask the Holy Spirit for the wisdom to witness to these people. Trust Him to give you the courage to approach them and the words to say to them.

Precious Father, forgive the unsaved and backsliders for not acknowledging You or Your Son. Forgive them for disobedience, hatred, rebellion, idolatry, and rejection of Your Gospel. Please have mercy upon them and extend Your grace toward them. Forgive us, the Body of Christ, for not sharing Jesus and the Gospel with more people. Forgive us for being timid and reserved about sharing the Gospel. Forgive us for not reaching out to those who we know are in a backslidden state. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind the unsaved and backslider of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to You, the One sitting on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever. For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #3:

A Declaration of Worship

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 44:1-8, Deuteronomy 7:1-15

Reflections of the Heart:

Our God is an awesome God. He is kind, tenderhearted, and merciful. Our Father loves us with an everlasting love and He is always concerned about our welfare. All that we need He provides through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. God should always be revered and adored. He should have our utmost respect. Today, bless the Lord. Lift up your praises to the One who is the living God; our God who is our Father.

Scriptural Prayer:

Mighty Father, we thank You for Your love and compassion. Thank You for keeping Your covenant with us throughout the ages. Thank You for making us Your people. We bless Your Holy Name. We proclaim Your unfailing love in the morning and Your faithfulness in the evening. Lord, You are compassionate, merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. Your unfailing love toward those who fear You is as great as the height of the heavens are above the earth. Let the whole world fear You, Lord. Let everyone stand in awe of You. Lord, You spoke and the world began; it appeared at Your command. You breathed the Word, and all the stars were born. Lord, You are our inheritance, in You will we hope. What a joy it is to be one of Your children. Father, You are good and Your faithful love endures forever.

Wonderful Father, we reverence and honor You. You are our God and we submit our loyalty and adoration to You. You are the First and the Last. You are the Living One. You died, but now You are alive, forever and ever. You hold the keys of death and the grave. Hallel YAH! You existed before time and created everything that exists. We acknowledge that You are the only living God. There are no other gods. Father, all of Your works will thank You, Lord and we, Your faithful followers, bless You. You are so awesome! We confess that we will keep Your commandments, walk in Your ways, and fear You. Father, we confess that Your instructions are perfect, reviving our souls. Your decrees are trustworthy, making wise the simple. Your commandments are right, bringing joy to our hearts. Your commands are clear, giving insight for living. Revering You is pure, lasting forever. Your laws are true and each one is fair. Father, Your Word is more desirable than gold, yes, even the finest gold. Your Word is sweeter than honey dripping from the honeycomb. Your Word warns us and we expect great reward as we adhere to it. Father, You are great and most worthy of praise. We will bless You at all times and constantly speak of Your praises.

List three attributes about God’s character that you love:

Loving Father, please let Your ears be attentive to our prayer. Holy Spirit, teach us how to reverence and adore our Father in true holiness. Please touch the hearts of those in our congregation who do not reverence and adore You, and help them to love You with all their hearts, souls, and strength. Holy Spirit, place in us a hunger and thirst for Your righteousness, so that we will be filled.

List three ways you can show appreciation and gratitude to the Lord:

Gracious Father, forgive us for sins of pride, arrogance, rebellion, disobedience, selfishness, hatred, idolatry, and lack of faith. Lord, forgive us for half-hearted worship. Forgive us for disrespecting Your Name and treating You irreverently. Forgive those of us who are parents for not teaching our children to reverence and adore You. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.
