This is going to all of Troop 243 and is the troop’s Weekly email for 6-15-15. This week’s meeting is a troop meeting during which we will travel to the Bass Pro Shop. There is no service patrol. There is no troop meeting on Wednesday June 24th because of summer camp. 1) THIS IS A CHANGE FROM LAST WEEK. This Wednesday we will leave St. Barnabas at 7:00PM very sharp and take the bus up to the Bass Pro Shop in southern Indiana. This means you have to be there by 6:15 if you have a bike to pack for summer camp or 6:45 if not, if you want to ride the bus. Because of the time constraints of getting there and back, we will leave at 7:00 with or without you. We expect to get there by 7:30, participate in their tracking program for an hour and return to St. Barnabas approximately 9:00. Parents, please be at St. Barnabas early to pick up your scout. Please don’t make our leaders wait for you. There is no permission slip required.
2) I’ve attached the troop 243 summer camp permission slip. As a special note to parents/guardians, by signing this permission slip you agree to come to Atlanta to pick up your scout if the troop has a behavioral problem with your scout. The decision is completely the decision of the adults on site. Please take this commitment seriously.
3) This is an update on the new soccer league tickets. Using the code boyscouts2015 will save you $3 per ticket making, for example, a $15 ticket $12.
4) For anyone who is interested in the traveling Vietnam Wall Memorial, it will be in place at the Ky. Horse Park, in Alltech Arena from 12:00PM July 9th through 3PM Sunday July 12th. Admission and parking is free to all who are visiting the wall. Please tell the person at the main entrance that you are there to see the Vietnam Wall. Here is a schedule. Sorry for the poor quality. 5) Here is a service opportunity. Given the soon to be revealed Papal Encyclical related to the environment, something like this is right up that alley. Lincoln Heritage Council encourages each scout to participate in this year’s Ohio River Sweep, which will be Saturday June 20th from 9-noon. If you do this, let me know and I will make an entry in Troopmaster. Gloves and bags will be provided at these sites:
6) I haven’t a clue if this is a good deal but in case it is here we go. July 11th, Boy Scouts will be admitted to the Quaker State 400 at the Ky Speedway for $25 with the purchase of another regular Priced ticket. Use the code “K15Scouts” for the discount. Purchase tickets at or 859-578-2300. Wear your scout uniform and receive a special KYS NASCAR Boy Scout Patch.
