Workload

Expect to spend 2 - 3 hours outside class for each hour in class.

In taking this class you are indicating your intention to enter the profession of teaching. Accordingly, a professional level of writing is expected in all assignments and communications associated with this course. Grammar errors will result in lower grades for assignments where spelling and grammar are included on the grading checklist. However, for any assignment, if writing skills do not reflect college-level work, the assignment may be returned for editing. If, after editing, the assignment still fails to represent college-level writing, the assignment may receive a score of zero. A need to focus on writing skills in addition to the regular course content can significantly increase the time and effort required to be successful in this class.

Late work is strongly discouraged. The grade for work turned in within one week of the due date will be reduced by one full letter grade. Work turned in more than 24 hours late will not be accepted.

Communication is KEY!

Keep me informed about issues, concerns, excitements, challenges, problems, etc. you may be having. Remember, if I don’t know, I can’t help!
