At the time that you applied for the position, the basic requirements on the vacancy announcement stated:
A. Successful completion of a full four-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor’s or higher degree with at least 24 semester/36 quarter hours in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position being filled.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience: Course equivalent to the requirements in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. For Fire/Fuels Management Specialist positions, completed less than a full 4-year course of study in college or university; the USDA Graduate School or equivalent; OR from other than an accredited institute of higher learning, such as the National Wildfire Coordinating Group, with at least 24 semester/36 quarter hours, [of which 18 semester/27 quarter hours are in upper division (junior/senior) courses], in biological science, natural resources, wildland fire management, forestry, or agriculture. In addition to the education, have experience or other education that is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in the biological sciences, agriculture, or natural resources fields.
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has issued new guidance concerning crediting courses for meeting the education requirements for General Schedule Positions. These changes have impacted our determining qualifications of applicants. In compliance with these changes, our agency can only accept courses that are documented on an official transcript from an accredited college or university which are leading toward a bachelor’s or higher degree, as meeting the minimum qualification requirement.
After reevaluation of your resume, it has been determined that you do not meet the minimum qualifications required for the position.
