RULES AND REGULATIONS

1  Dogs entered at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows must be registered at the Kennel Club in accordance with Kennel Club Regulations for Classification and Registration B. The Registration Number/Authority to compete number will be required for each entry.

2  Entry and Other Fees: £2-40 per dog per class. £12.00 per Team SDDTC helping members: £1.00 per dog per class.

Camping: £20.00 per unit for the weekend (Fri, Sat, and Sun).

3  No prize money is on offer.

4  The committee reserves the right to refuse entries. All dogs resident outside the UK must be issued with a KC Authority to Compete number before entry to the show/event can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the exhibitor/competitor.

5  Puppies under 18 calendar months of age on the first day of the show are not eligible for Kennel Club licensed Agility Tests.

6  Not for competition entries will be accepted for dogs aged four calendar months and over. Dogs must be Kennel Club registered with their details recorded on the Entry Form.

7  The mating of bitches within the precincts of the Show is forbidden.

8  No bitch in season is allowed to compete.

9  No person shall carry out punitive correction or handling of a dog at any time within the boundaries of the Show.

10  Dogs must not wear slip chains, collars or leads when under test. A flat, close fitting, leather or webbing collar is permitted providing the only attachment is a plain identification panel as an integral part of the collar, i.e. not attached by a ring.

11  Should a judge be unable to fulfil the appointment to judge the Committee reserves the right to appoint another judge. Additional judges will be appointed if necessary.

12  No competitor shall impugn the decision of the judge or judges.

13  Dogs will be received at the judge’s discretion, until the management closes the class.

14  Standard marking will apply as published in the K C Year Book as at 1st July 2007

15  Heights of jump obstacles for large dogs will be 65cm, for medium dogs will be 45cm and for small dogs will be 35cm. Large dogs over 43cm Medium dogs are those measuring 43cm or under but over 35cm at the withers. Small dogs are those measuring 35cm or under at the withers. Veteran jump heights large dogs 45cm medium dogs 35cm small dogs between 5-7 ins

16  Where a show schedules small, medium and large classes, a dog can only be entered in the height category for which they are eligible. i.e. small, medium or large.

17  Judges at an Agility Test may not enter for competition a dog that is recorded in their ownership or part ownership; or handle a dog at the Test at which they are judging.

18  Withdrawal of dogs from Test - A dog shall be withdrawn from competition and removed from the Test if it is:

a bitch which is in season.

b Suffering from any infectious diseases or contagious disease.

c Interfere with the safety or chance of winning of an opponent.

d Of such temperament or is so much out of hand as to be a danger to the safety of any person or other animal.

e Likely to cause suffering to the dog if it continues competing.

19  All wins up to and including 25 days before the start of the competition shall be counted when entering for any class. For these purposes a competition shall be defined as all classes covered within the same schedule. In the event that a dogs becomes eligible for the next grade at a particular show after the entry for that show has been sent, it is the competitors responsibility to notify the show secretary at least 14 days before the date of the show. The dog should then be moved into the appropriate class(es) for the next grade .The dog must be moved into the corresponding number of classes as were entered at the lower grade. If there are fewer or no classes available for the next grade the competitor should be offered a refund of relevant fees.

20  It is the competitor’s responsibility to be available for their class and running order.

21  Handlers running more than one dog must ensure that the dogs compete in the sequence in which they are drawn. Failure to do so may result in elimination.

22  Should circumstances dictate the Society, in consultation with the judges may alter arrangements as necessary. Such changes and the circumstances surrounding them must be reported to the Kennel Club.

23  A dog at the time of entry for the competition must be registered by the Kennel Club Rules & Regulations in the competitor’s name (or registration or transfer applied for). In the case of a partnership the full name of every partner must be given. In the case of dogs recorded as owned by a limited company, the directors and the secretary of the limited company will jointly be considered for the purpose of the regulations. A dog acquired subsequently to entry having been made at a competition may compete as the new owner’s property provided that an application for transfer has been forwarded to the Kennel Club before the competition, and the new owner has undertaken to abide by the Regulations and conditions of the original entry.

24  No animal other than the one officially entered shall be brought into the precincts of the event during it’s continuance, except any dogs registered to assist the disabled, or dogs required for educational or instructional purposes or by permission of the General Committee. However, at the discretion of the show secretary, a dog brought to the show by a spectator may be admitted into the precincts of the dog show, with the proviso that those in charge of the dog sign a declaration confirming the dog is free from disease and that the dog will be kept under proper control at all times.
