Saint Paul Police Department SWAT will host Active Shooter Training September 21,22 and 23 through the Saint Paul Police Professional Development Institute.

The course is being offered as a 1 day Basic Active shooter response course and will consist of an 8 hour day. All local law enforcement is welcome to attend. We can accommodate between 12-16 students per day.

-The class will consist of:

-1.5 to 2 hours of classroom

-2 hours of walk through on basic formations movements up and down stairwells, hallways, room entries and room clearing

-30 minutes for lunch

-3.0 hours of FORCE on FORCE scenarios with simunitions

-1/2 hour for Debrief

We will provide the Simunitions, Simunition guns (Glocks) and Simunition bolts for M-4, AR-15 rifles.

Outside agencies that use a handgun other then a Glock, can either train with our Simunition Glocks or provide Simunition guns and ammo that are the same as the handgun their department deploys with. Outside agencies are encouraged to bring their rifles if they would deploy with those rifles during an Active Shooter scenario. If those rifles are M-4 or AR-15 rifles, we can provide Simunition Bolts and Ammo. Officers should train with the actual weapon that they deploy with when possible. If that is not an option, they can train with our training rifles.

We can also accommodate other long guns such as MP-5 and MP-40, Outside agencies should provide simunition bolts and ammo for those weapons and they can go through the course with that weapon following a safety inspection.
