DIMENSIONS AND LIMITS OF AUTHORITY / Ø  To deliver all printed material from across Saint Francis Hospice, to include marketing materials, leaflets, corporate publications, as directed by Head of Marketing and Communications and working to the departmental plan.
Ø  To deliver creative digital design including infographics, web banners and social media graphics to support planned digital activity.
Ø  Film and edit video for use on website and social media to showcase all areas of hospice work including events, courses, presentations and awareness-raising.
Ø  Ensure all marketing literature, online and offline is in keeping with brand guidelines.
Ø  Work within set budget.
JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY OF KEY OBJECTIVES
The job holder will support the innovative design and timely production of all hospice marketing material, including digital design and video production. The job holder will support all functions of the Marketing and Communications team, and work to the departmental plan.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.  Working alongside the Marketing and Communications team and Head of Marketing and Communications for direction, produce relevant, creative and timely marketing materials on brand, on time and on the assigned budget.
2.  Work closely with the Marketing Executive and the Head of Marketing and Communications with the development of booklets, leaflets, factsheets and documents to improve existing Hospice literature.
3.  Produce digital marketing material to support the Marketing and Communications annual plan and to ensure integrated marketing support to all fundraising activities and awareness raising activities.
4.  Create videos to promote the hospice and fundraising activities and appeals, edit and upload to YouTube/relevant platform.
5.  Provide expertise and creative input from the inception stage of design work, through to its final production where necessary coordinating work by others.
6.  Liaise with Marketing Executive to ensure support for key campaigns and events.
7.  Deliver consistent design to brand, and ensure our key messages are accurately promoted.
8.  Proof read to produce accurate and high-quality work.
9.  Contribute to the department plan and log all requests for design work regardless of size of project, estimate the time required to complete the work and ensure efficient organization and scheduling of workloads to meet editorial, design and production deadlines.
10.  Track and monitor the progress of work in print, organize and divide time between high-priority and on-going design projects, keeping Head of Communications and Marketing and other relevant team members regularly updated.
11.  Provide final designs in required format production of materials according to deadlines to ensure quality standards are met, dealing with any issues that may arise.
12.  Carry out photo library searches as required and ensure the correct use of images and fonts with regards to copyright.
13.  Maintain a professional rapport with external providers over the production of materials within agreed deadlines and specifications, ensuring all work is produced in accordance with approved organisational standards.
14.  Develop technical skills and stay abreast of software changes, trends and new ideas.
15.  Maintain the filing systems of images and artwork to ensure good housekeeping.
16.  Contribute to library of patient stories/case studies for use in PR activity but wider marketing activity such as direct mail campaigns and appeals.
17.  Report to the Head of Communications and Marketing on progress at regular intervals.
18.  Support and share general duties with the Marketing and Communications team as directed by the Head of Marketing and Communications, to include the attendance of events and engagements where appropriate at evening and weekends.
19.  Undertake any other duties as requested by the Head of Communications and Marketing and/or Director of Fundraising and Marketing.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB INCUMBENT

CONFIDENTIALITY:
The Creative Designer must maintain confidentiality, security and integrity of information relating to Saint Francis Hospice matters during the course of duty. Any breach of Confidentiality may become a disciplinary issue.

WORKING TIME REGULATIONS:
The ‘Working Time Regulations 1998’ require that you should not work more than an average of 48 hours in each week. For example, in a 26 week period you should work no more than 1,248 hours.
