Business Needs: This project has been initiated to establish control on our inventory as well as to increase sales by reaching new customers and to better serve customers using a web-enabled sales support application.
Business Requirements: Champion Toys does mall business around Texas. Currently we don’t have database server so we don’t have control on our inventory. Moreover using the web-enabled sales support, customers should be able to search and buy products of Champion Toys. The functionality that the system should have is listed below:
1-Establishing a primary database and web server at headquarter in Dallas, Texas.
2-All necessary software implementation, hardware, network installation and network security between the stores and headquarter to access database from any Champion Toys store, to check the status of inventory-levels of products and prices for management purposes.
3-Search through the Champion Toys selections’ inventory of products and place an order. (For customers)
4-Identify the retail stores that have the product in stock.
5-Put a product on hold at a retail store and schedule a time to pick up.
6-Receive a confirmation report that an order can be placed and when it will be in stock. (This might be an e-bill).
Business Value: Champion Toys expects that increased sales with the
database server and web-enabled support service by reaching more customers as well as prevent incorrect refund, exchange and unreported sales. Addition of these services will also help to compete with our competitors in the market. Moreover we expect to reduce our customers’ complaints on our services.
