Perform root-cause failure analysis on drives returned by Maxtor customers. Troubleshoot and repair printed circuit board assemblies to component level, and troubleshoot Head/Disk assemblies to component level. Also assisted in preparing reports of FA results, and in the maintenance of a large Access database.
-Provided training to Field Engineering Staff in failure analysis techniques.
- Built and configured PC systems used for Firmware Verification Testing of disk drives and also test bench systems. Assisted in the installation and maintenance of a 40 workstation Lantastic LAN for the Firmware Verification lab.

Repair EXB-8200 and EXB-8500 8 mm tape drives returned by Exabyte's customers to the Boulder service depot. Performed root-cause failure analysis on units and troubleshoot printed circuit cards to component level. Also performed extended testing and detailed physical inspection of units that are "no defect found" in the
normal service process. Traveled to several customer sites to perform on-site failure analysis and field upgrades to units.
TECHNICIAN III (MANUFACTURING) (1987 to 1990)
Worked in all aspects of the manufacturing process including failure analysis and card debug and repair. Served as Lead Technician from January 1989 to February 1990 and was responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of several production lines.

Directed the day-to-day maintenance of the Ampex Terabit Memory System at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado. Supervised field service representatives in maintenance operations, including preventive and corrective, and troubleshooting system hardware to the component level. Required familiarity with software utilized in the system, as well as PDP 11 system controller; DC330 disc drives; and an Ampex DC830 disc control unit.
