WORK EXPERIENCE

9198-9970 Quebec Inc. (July 2008 – present)
Aveos Fleet Performance Inc, St-Laurent, Qc
(CGI subcontractor)
SAP PI SPEC2000 XML Messaging with Aeroxchange + ACTS Aero TS&S Inc re-branding + Artos/WDI EDI SPEC2000 coordination / EDI Coordinator
July 2008 to present - 11 months

Assumed the role of single point of contact for all EDI SPEC2000[1] governance, risk management and compliance related issues.

SAP PI SPEC2000 XML Messaging via Aeroxchange

In the context of the Project to move (i.e. carve-out) from the legacy IBM managed Artos/WDI solution to the new SAP PI SPEC2000 compliant, XML based solution, Mr Adamowicz acted as EDI Coordinator for the integration development to support Aeroxchange Message Broker document interchange with SAP ECC via SAP PI web services. The intent was to replace WDI by SAP PI as the Aveos EDI/SPEC2000 Message Broker supported by the SAP SPEC2000 Extensions. Full SAP Core support for SPEC2000 messages and functions provides tightly-coupled ERP integration and controls. This 4 month project was suspended midway through development for business reasons.

ACTS Aero TS&S re-branding

In the context of the Project to re-brand (i.e. rename) ACTS Technical Support & Services Inc. to Aveos Fleet Performance Inc., Mr Adamowicz acted as EDI Coordinator for the EDI portion of IT related tasks and activities to address SCM Business requirements with respect to their 120 distinct, EDI capable, suppliers. This 6 week project was constrained by precise legal deadlines (i.e. September 23, 2008) to establish strict vendor compliance.

Artos/WDI EDI SPEC2000 coordination

In the context of legacy EDI Messaging interchange Production environment support requirements, Mr Adamowicz acted as EDI Coordinator for day-to-day operations in support of Aeroxchange as well as SITA/ARINC Message Broker channels (pipes) for document interchange with Artos (legacy maintenance and engineering system).

Managed EDI translation services are provided by IBM via WDI over VPN/Websphere MQ to Aeroxchange and via traditional services to SITA/ARINC. Standard EDI transactions are supported for SPEC2000 communications. This form of Type-B protected format traffic and data interchange is covered by SPEC2000, Chapter 10. “SPEC 2000/ASC X12 Implementation Guide”. For SCM application services, SPEC2000 Chapter 3. “Order Administration” and Chapter 4. “Customer Invoicing” standards and transactions have been implemented throughout the EDI-capable supplier community.

Provided remote (i.e. WebEx) knowledge transfer to near-shore resource to succeed my position.

Proof of Concept – BizTalk 2009

In the context of BizTalk 2009 evaluation, validation, confirmation and potential fit determination to support current and future Aveos requirements, Mr Adamowicz acted as a key resource who proposed the candidate integration scenarios. The POC would compare current EDI/SPEC2000 transformations with BizTalk capabilities as well as develop and test newer XML equivalents to support SPEC2200 (iSpec 2200). This could lead into a potential business case to convert the current WDI deployment to a more cost-effective, open and services oriented approach under BizTalk’s total ESB supported framework solution. This would be in anticipation of future Air Canada (as well as other) customer requirements including other potential internal EAI applications.

Mr. Adamowicz acted as Aveos functional/technical contact. Based on a proposed testing approach, he developed detailed mapping specs and provided extensive test data and scenarios with desired results. He attended canned product demos relating to BAM and SCOM (Service Center Operations Monitor) capabilities. His insights and observations were conveyed to the Enterprise Architecture team, SCM team and the CIO.
