TDSP ESIID Report ERCOT Public

1.  Overview

1.1.  Background

The TDSP ESI ID Extract is a public extract that provides characteristic information on ESI IDs broken out by TDSP territory. The information included is non-proprietary data regarding ESI IDs in all competitive service territories and access is not restricted. Information included contains characteristic information such as status, station code and service address details. Market Participants can utilize this information to create and update a database of ESI IDs and their characteristics per TDSP territory.

1.2.  Document Purpose

This document describes the data contained within the TDSP ESI ID report, audience for which the information is available, access and delivery information and an explanation on how the report is designed.

The document is intended to provide a business understanding of the data contained and how this data can be applied to the Market Participant. This document is not directed at a technical audience and is not intended as a complete guide for scheduled data extracts. Supplemental information regarding individual reports and extracts will be communicated to the market from ERCOT on an as needed basis.

When translating the information within this document to your own systems, please be aware that modifications may be needed in order to accommodate your unique environment and thorough testing is strongly advised.

2.  Summary

2.1.  Overview of TDSP ESI ID Report

The TDSP ESI ID Extract is a public extract that provides characteristic information on registered ESI IDs by each TDSP area.

2.1.1.  General Report Information

The TDSP ESI ID Report provides information that allows Market Participants to verify the ESI ID and/or its characteristics by TDSP area for a Service Delivery Point (SDP) using the service address or ESI ID.

The TDSP ESI ID Extract has 2 formats:

·  Full – Available once every month posted on the first Tuesday (by 23:59:59) following the first Monday, containing all ESI IDs by TDSP territory and limited characteristic data.

·  New – Incremental file produced weekly and posts every Tuesday by 23:59:59. This incremental file only contains changes to ESI ID characteristics for the prior week. Though service order information is included within the data, changes to service orders do not constitute a characteristic change triggering the ESI ID to be updated for the report. Changes to service order information is contained within the Siebel Service Order extract.

2.1.2.  Report Recipients

The TDSP ESIID Report is a public report posted on ERCOT.com and available to all Market Participants and anyone with internet access. Additionally, any Market Participant with a Digital Certificate and MIS access can also find the report in the Report Explorer Public Subfolder.

2.2.  About ERCOT Data Extracts and Reports

ERCOT data extracts provide a framework that allows Market Participants to retrieve ERCOT market data for analysis. This framework is comprised of two elements: DDL and Data Extract distributions.

2.2.1.  Data Definition Language (DDL)

ERCOT provides the structures for Market Participants to load ERCOT data into their own environment in the form of data definition language (DDL). This DDL provides the metadata data for the data type of each field, the table primary and foreign key constraints, and a brief description of the data that is to be loaded into each column.

2.2.2.  Data Extract Distributions

ERCOT utilizes a standard comma-separated value file format (CSV) for extract/report data delivery to ensure portability across most platforms and architectures. These CSV files are distributed to the market through the Market Information System (MIS) website packaged in zip files.

While data extracts and reports are not intended to provide a single solution to resolve all Market Participant needs, they are meant to provide Market Participants with the data sets used by ERCOT to manage various types of information.

3.  Content

3.1.  Content Description

The information contained within the report is Service Address and characteristic information from the ERCOT Registration Database as submitted by the TDSP in which territory the ESIID resides.

The TDSP ESIID information is available for the following TDSP service areas:

·  Sharyland

·  Reliant (Centerpoint Territory)

·  Entergy Gulf States

·  Oncor Electric

·  AEP

·  Swepco Energy

·  Nueces Electric Cooperative

·  Texas New Mexico Power (TNMP)

·  West Texas Utilities/WTU (AEP North Territory)

·  Central Power & Light/CPL (AEP Central Territory)

The below table describes the columns included within the TDSP ESI ID Extract.

Name / Description
ESI ID / The Electric Service Industry Identifier (ESI ID) as assigned by the TDSP
ADDRESS / Registered Street Address
ADDRESS_OVERFLOW / Address Overflow information - if necessary
CITY / Registered City
STATE / Registered State
ZIPCODE / Registered Zip Code
DUNS / The Duns number assigned to the Market Participant
METER_READ_CYCLE / TDSPs/MREs have meter read cycles and this code represents a particular meter read date range in their systems ex: 03
STATUS / Denotes the status of the ESI ID ex: Active, Inactive, De-energized
PREMISE_TYPE / Denotes the type of premise as either Residential, Small Non-Residential, or Large Non-Residential
POWER_REGION / The character code identifying the power region the ESI ID is electrically connected in as assigned by the TDSP (ERCOT, SPP, SERC, WSCC)
STATIONCODE / The unique character code to identify a substation serving an ESI ID as assigned by the TDSP and used in the ERCOT Network Model
STATIONNAME / The long name to identify a substation used in the ERCOT Network Model
METERED / The derivation of the PROFILETYPE of the PROFILECODE. If the PROFILETYPE is = NM, the data would show N for not metered. If the PROFILETYPE is > NM, the data would show Y for metered

The NEW report runs Monday evening and includes data from two Sunday’s prior at 00:00:00 through Saturday at 23:59:59. The report also includes all incremental changes made during this timeline.

Please note that on weeks where the Full report runs, there is an incremental report posted as well.

3.3.  Security Requirements

The TDSP ESIID Report is a public classification of data available on ERCOT.com, the MIS and API. In order to access the report via the public folder on the MIS, a Digital Certificate is required. A Digital Certificate must be obtained from your entity’s User Security Administrator. If you are unsure who your company’s USA is, please contact you Account Manager or contact the ERCOT helpdesk for addition information

4.  Design

4.1.  Report Format

The TDSP ESIID Report will be delivered to the MIS and Ercot.com in the format of a “.zip” file with a “csv” file included within. The name of the file as it appears on Ercot.com and on the MIS in the Market Participant’s Public Reports Folder named “TDSP Esiid Reports” will be:

YYYYMMDD.123456.TDSP_NAME___FUL.zip

YYYYMMDD.123456.TDSP_NAME___NEW.zip

The first 8 digits refer to the posting date and the second six digits are a unique internally generated numerical identifier. The next value represents the name of the TDSP territory followed by an underscore(s) located at the end of the name to maintain a 13 character length requirement. The naming convention ends with the type of posting the report refers to (Full or New).zip

When saved locally the ZIP file naming convention is:

RptPublic123456YYYYMMDD123456TDSP_NAME___FUL.zip

RptPublic123456 YYYYMMDD123456TDSP_NAME___NEW.zip

Once unzipped, the CSV file naming convention is:

TDSP_NAME___FUL-REPORTS-DD-MMM-YY.csv

TDSP_NAME___NEW-REPORTS- DD-MMM-YY.csv

4.2.  DDL

The DDL associated with this report is available on the MIS Report Explorer in the public folder in the Extract Data Definitions subfolder. The DDL name for this report is TDSP_ESIID.
