Tournament Summary & Highlights
The 36th Annual Marion E Knelly Memorial Invitational was held Friday, Saturday & Sunday at Sugarloaf Golf Club. 95 (2 person) teams participated. The event attracts golfers from as far as California, Washington DC, North Carolina, Alabama, Texas, Florida, Maryland, New York, New Jersey & Virginia as well as many top golfers from around the state.
On Sunday, August 10, Rob Breslin of Jupiter Florida (formerly of Sugarloaf) carded his third hole-in-one on the par three 3rd hole. Rob used an 8 iron to hit the 150 yard shot. Witnessing the event were his brother Jerry Breslin of Hollywood Florida, Sean Brogan and Tom Delahanty.

Wayne & I would like to thank you all for supporting this tournament and for being a part of its continued success for 36 years. We look forward to seeing the familiar faces of teams who have participated for many of those 36 years, as well as meeting many new players. We love hearing your stories of the people you’ve met here over the years and hope our newer players will find those same kinds of friendships in the future.
Wayne & I would also like to let you know that we always appreciate your input regarding speed of play, the difficulty of the course and any other concerns/comments you have. With nearly 200 golfers participating in this event, it can be difficult to find a balance that everyone can agree upon and after 36 years we are still doing our best to provide a great test of golf for this event. With that in mind, we are already making plans for 2015 and are excited to make our 37th Invitational even better.
It is our pleasure to put this event on every August and we look forward to hosting many more in the coming years. Hope to see you all August 14, 15 & 16, 2015!
