Input/update data on a JPERSTAT

PRACTICAL EXERCISE #1

STUDENT INSTRUCTIONS

OBJECTIVE: This practical exercise measures your ability to input/update soldier data in the JPERSTAT in the role of a BN S-1. You will demonstrate your knowledge of the personnel readiness data of the (J)PERSTAT by accurately calculating the personnel measurement areas of the gains and losses of the unit.

MATERIALS REQUIRED:

1. #2 Pencil & Paper.

2. Blank (J)PERSTAT.

3. Calculator. (Optional)

4. PE Supplement 1.

5. Laptop with Internet connectivity.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Ensure that your name, student number, course number, class number, and today’s date are on your answer sheet.

2. This practical exercise contains an additional information report (below), a blank (J)PERSTAT (today’s), and a PE supplement, consisting of yesterdays (J)PERSTAT. Check your PE and PE Supplement now. If you are missing a page or a portion of it is illegible, obtain a new practical exercise from your instructor.

3. ALL WORK ON THIS PRACTICAL EXERCISE MUST BE YOUR OWN. You may NOT communicate with other students, give or receive assistance, make record of your answers anywhere but on your answer sheet, or pass on information about this practical exercise to other students.

4. The hard copy of the blank (J)PERSTAT is provided to conduct calculations on. You should use the electronic copy of the (J)PERSTAT found on the AKO, Knowledge Collaboration Center (KCC) to complete the final (J)PERSTAT.

5. You will have 40 minutes in which to complete this practical exercise.

TASK: You need to put each Task Force element onto the JPERSTAT based off of their physical location, i.e. HHC/1-66AR located at FOB Birch. Each Task Force should be broken down to company level. Annotate the starting numbers for each element which you pull from the Alpha Roster excel spread sheet that is posted on the class blackboard in the CPX/FTX folders. After you have entered all (6) Task Forces including the BSB and BSTB, then you can start the scenarios listed below.

SCENARIO 1: You are the BN S-1 for Task Force 1-22IN. In the past 24hrs you received the following personnel updates due to several different scenarios. Annotate the changes on PE Supplement 1. Ensure to put all updates in the notes section based off of the location of the update.

- (2) KIA: 1/A/1-22IN

- (1) WIA LVL 3: 2/B/1-22IN

- (4) Soldiers from 1/D/1-22IN moved from your current FOB to the CSH to assist as LNO’s for the Task Force.

SCENARIO 2: You are the BN S-1 for Task Force 1-66AR. In the past 24hrs you received the following personnel updates due to several different scenarios. Annotate the changes on PE Supplement 1. Ensure to put all updates in the notes section based off of the location of the update.

- (1) KIA: 3/C/1-66AR

- (2) WIA LVL 3: 2/B/1-66AR

- (1) NBL LVL 4: Distro PLT/E/1-66AR

- (2) Soldiers from BN Staff/1-66AR moved from your current FOB to TF 4-42FA’s current location in the BN Staff to assist with operations.

SCENARIO 3: You are the BN S-1 for Task Force 4-42FA. In the past 24hrs you received the following personnel updates due to several different scenarios. Annotate the changes on PE Supplement 1. Ensure to put all updates in the notes section based off of the location of the update.

- (2) WIA LVL 3: 1/B/4-42FA

- (2) Soldiers from: G/BSB departed on R&R

- (2) Soldiers from: 2/B/4-42FA departed on R&R

- (2) Soldiers from: 1/A/4-42FA departed on R&R

- (4) Soldiers from: Medical PLT/HHB/4-42FA departed on Qatar Pass

SCENARIO 4: You are the BN S-1 for Task Force 7-10CAV. In the past 24hrs you received the following personnel updates due to several different scenarios. Annotate the changes on PE Supplement 1. Ensure to put all updates in the notes section based off of the location of the update.

- (2) Gains to: 1/B/7-10CAV

- (3) Soldiers from: 3/C/7-10CAV departed on R&R

- (3) Soldiers from: 2/B/7-10CAV departed on R&R

- (2) KIA: BN Staff/HHT/7-10CAV

- (2) Soldiers from: Field Feed Sec/D/BSB departed the FOB and are attached to the BSTB for operations.

SCENARIO 5: You are the BN S-1 for the BSB. In the past 24hrs you received the following personnel updates due to several different scenarios. Annotate the changes on PE Supplement 1. Ensure to put all updates in the notes section based off of the location of the update.

- (2) Soldiers from: Maint PLT/B/BSB departed on R&R

SCENARIO 6: You are the BN S-1 for the BSTB. In the past 24hrs you received the following personnel updates due to several different scenarios. Annotate the changes on PE Supplement 1. Ensure to put all updates in the notes section based off of the location of the update.
