Varsity Coaches- What is Spirit Revolution?

· Combination of Stevenson’s Pom and Cheerleading programs supporting one another and working with together to promote school spirit.

· Unique relationship between the two sports that is often attempted, but never really successful, at other schools across the state.

· Model program and elite status and rankings throughout the state.

Spirit Revolution By Laws- must be read and discussed with parent and athlete before tryouts. Sign and return on the first day of clinics. This is necessary to participate. PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND THEY ARE OUR GOVERNING RULES, AS WELL AS THE ATHLETIC CODE!

Team numbers, as stated in the By Laws, can fluctuate year to year. Understand that there is NEVER any guarantee someone will be on a team that they may have been on in the previous season. Do not ASSUME you will make a team if you’ve been on it in the past. We will list call backs by number each night, and we will post a listing of final teams on the Spirit Rev website. We are anticipating posting ALL teams by Friday May 20 .

· New team meetings will be on 5/23, at 4pm. Please make arrangements so you can receive important information about ordering (and trying on) supplies and camps for the summer.

· Conferences for those athletes not making a team that wish to briefly discuss their tryout will be on 5/24, by appointment only. Please email for Patriette appointments and Erin Vance for Cheerleading appointments. Please respect our workplaces by setting up appointments rather than calling or showing up at school.

· Summer practices are June 7- July 28, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm-830pm, for ALL levels. Star Performance Pom camp is June 24-26 @ CARTHAGE COLLEGE. Varsity & JV Cheer camp is June 21-24 @ Starved Rock. In-House cheer camp is June 24-26th @SHS. Varsity Cheer Choreography camp is July 28-30 @ SHS. Attendance for all teams is highly encouraged for all summer events.. Registration forms will be distributed at the new team meetings.

· Practices for Frosh and JV teams are typically 3 days a week. Varsity teams typically practice 4 days a week.

· Competitions are only for Varsity and JV. Both Frosh teams combine and perform an exhibition routine at the 2 SHS competitions.
