A. Inventory and Inspect PECU: /
1. Conduct a complete inventory of each PECU and PECU Kit in accordance with applicable AEL/APL. /

2. Place CHARGER/CUT/TEST Switch in the TEST position. Verify pointer is well into the GREEN area (good charge). /

3. Verify PECU battery charging cord had been safety checked and is within periodicity. /

4. Battery pack secured with all fasteners and spacers? /

5. Install spare battery pack. Will spare battery pack hold a charge? /

6. Remove collet nut, collet, washer, spark arrestor and shield extension. Inspect all components for dirt, damage and uneven wear.
Note, shield extension may not be installed if not required. /

7. Inspect torch handle and head assembly for dirt, uneven wear, and damage. / Ref (b)
8. Inspect striker for dirt and damage.
Note: Disconnect striker lead from battery assembly before inspection. / Ref (b)
9. Inspect battery pack well area for water, corrosion and debris. / Ref (b)
10. Verify PECU O2 Cylinder and spare bottle have at least 1500PSIG Oxygen Pressure. Pressures under 1500 PSIG require bottle to be replaced.
Note: Standard shipboard cutting-welding combination pressure and regulator gage will be used as test gage. / Ref (b)
11. Verify that there was no indication of oxygen leakage from the cylinder valve thread connection and closed valve stem or from the cylinder valve safety device or any fusible metal extruding from relief holes. / Ref (b)
12. Visually inspect hoses oxygen hoses and electrical cabling for evidence of cuts, tears, abrasion, or deterioration. / Ref (b)
B. Optest PECU:
1. Test operate PECU by igniting one rod in a well ventilated area. Verify battery is still in the GREEN Band. / Ref (a)
2. Did the unit operate properly / Ref (b)
