Piper Aztec Lycoming IO540 Hot Start Procedure
1.) Throttles full, Props full, Mixtures full.
2.) Turn on right fuel pump until you see the right fuel flow meter indicator come alive, then turn off the pump and then without delay bring the right mixture to the cut off position.
3.) Bring the right throttle to slightly above idle.
4.) Engage the right starter motor. The prop will rotate longer than normal (10-15 seconds) prior to firing. As the prop begins to slow slightly get ready because the engine is about to fire up. Once it kicks over a few times bring the mixture to about the 2.5-3.0 position and then transition your hand to the throttle. That is it! ** If the engine acts like it will die, open the throttle quickly and then bring back it back to the idle position smoothly. The engine will then catch. **

Do this same thing for the left engine.
