Personal Leave Policy

Effective: January 1, 2008

Nextran Corporation recognizes that employees will need time away from work for illness or matters unrelated to vacation. For these purposes, regular full time employees who have successfully completed a six month introductory period may earn personal leave as described in this policy:

Criteria

In order to earn personal leave, employees must begin work at their regularly scheduled start time. Any tardiness (in excess of one) during the periods described below will disqualify the employee from earning personal leave.

Period of Service Personal Leave Earned

After completion of the calendar quarters ending:

March 31st ……………………………………………………………………….…. 4 hrs

June 30th ……………………………………………………………………………. 4 hrs

September 30th ………………………………………………………………………4 hrs

December 31st ……………………………………………………………………….4 hrs

The above periods do not include the time spent working during an introductory period. For example, if an introductory period ends prior to March 31st, an employee is only eligible to earn 4 hours for each of the quarters ending on June 30th, September 30th, and December 31st.

Using Personal Leave

Personal leave is paid at the employee’s base pay rate that is in effect at the time of the requested leave. It does not include overtime or any other forms of compensation such as incentive, commissions, or bonuses. Additionally, hours taken for personal leave will not be counted as time worked for purposes of calculating overtime. To request leave, an employee must call his/her supervisor before the start of his/her shift and request that personal leave be used.

Personal leave must be taken in increments of no less than 4 hours. Leave may not be used prior to accrual. Employees out on a leave of absence extending beyond 5 consecutive days will be disqualified from earning personal leave until the next calendar quarter.

Roll-Over

Nextran permits personal leave to be rolled over from year to year as described below:

Unused personal leave of up to 32 hours at the end of a calendar year may be rolled over into the next Year. Hours effectively earned on December 31st are subject to these rules in the year earned.

No Payouts are available:

Nextran does not offer a payout option for unused personal leave throughout or upon termination of employment for any reason.

New Hires

Anyone who completes their introductory period prior to the calendar quarters ending on March 31st, June 30th, September 30th or December 31st will be eligible to earn personal leave during the following quarter.
