Penfield Girls’ Varsity Volleyball Tournament
@ Penfield HS & Bay Trail MS – September 3rd , 2011
§ Arrive @ 7:30am
§ General Warm up time for all teams begins immediately (until 8:15 when only teams playing in first match should be on the courts)
§ Coaches/Officials meeting @ 8:00am
§ Begin official warm up period @ 8:18am; Begin Play @ 8:30am
Format
Ø 7 Pools with 4 teams in each
Ø Each pool play match consists of two 25 point games
Ø Playoffs: All teams advance to a division (Gold, Silver, or Bronze)
Ø 1st and 2nd place teams in each pool, and the best two 3rd place teams advance to Gold (at PHS)
Ø The remaining five 3rd place teams and the best three 4th place team advance to Silver (at Bay Trail MS)
Ø The remaining four 4th place teams advance to Bronze (at PHS)
Gold Pre-Quarterfinals = One game to 25
Gold Quarterfinals & Semis = TWO games to 25 (point diff. decides split; if still tied, 15 point tiebreaker game)
Gold Finals = best two of three 25 point games (including deciding game)
Silver Quarterfinals = one game to 25
Silver Semis = TWO games to 25 (point differential decides split – if still tied, play a 15 point tiebreaker game)
Silver Finals = best two of three 25 point games (including deciding game)
Bronze Semis, & Finals = One game to 25
Additional Information
§ Work team must provide 2 lines and 2 scorekeepers.
§ PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN VOLLEYBALLS.
§ For playoffs – if you lose, you may work the next match on that court! Check with staff.
§ We will have some help for work teams from the Penfield Girls JV team.
§ Warm up time will be 6 minutes per team for their first matches and 3 minutes per team for remaining matches.
§ The service area for the south side of the East Gym is small – Foot faults are allowed (to the first line in on the court).
§ Questions during event can be directed to the Tournament Staff.
§ There will be a concession stand open throughout the tournament.
§ T-shirts and sweatshirts will be for sale. All shirts have every teams roster printed on back!
§ Team trophies will be awarded to the top 2 Gold and the Silver Champion.
§ The All-Tournament Team will be selected by the coaches from the Gold semis and finals. The Championship team will get 1 MVP plus 2 All-Tournament selections, the Gold Runners-up will get 2 selections, and the semifinals losers will get 1 selection each.

* For scheduling purposes, all out of section teams were placed as a #2 seed to allow for travel time if requested. Each pool has teams of varying strengths. Additional out of town teams were placed as 3 seeds so they work first.
