Directions: Take I-35 north to I494/94 west towards St. Cloud to US Hwy 169. Follow Hwy 101/169 north to Princeton, MN. Exit onto hwy 95 east and continue east for 1/8th of a mile towards W Branch street. Turn right onto W Branch street and continue 3/8th of a mile towards N 3rd street, turn right and the fairground are directly ahead.

Goat Check-in Times

Friday, August 25: Goats will be able to check in until 4:30 pm, Saturday, August 26th: between 8-8:30 am. If you’re running late, call Leah at 320-250-5876 or Mackenzie at 320-290-8482 for other arrangements.

MGR rules are to govern and take precedence over all others. Any situation arising during shows or sale that isn’t covered by the following rules shall be decided by the show host in consultation with those involved and MGR ownership if deemed necessary.

Statement of liability: Show management and/or Mille Lacs County Fair Board shall not be responsible for loss, injury or damage of any sort occurring in conjunction with these shows and sale. Any person present during these events shall be solely responsible for their own damages, if any are incurred. Further, any person present during these events shall be solely responsible for any loss, injury or damage to others caused by them or their animals.

Show Rules

1. Goats entered in the shows must be registered by the Myotonic Goat Registry. The original registration certificate must accompany the goat during check-in.

2. Age eligibility for classes will be determined by birth date on the registration certificate and the date of the show.

3. The full correct registered name of the goat must be used on the entry forms.

4. Every goat must have a permanent ID on its body (USDA scrapie tag, tattoo, or microchip) and this permanent ID must be on the animal’s registration certificate. Exhibitors must bring a reader if their goats are microchipped. Tattoos and tags must be legible.

5. The exhibitor name on the show entry form must be the same as the owner’s name on the registration certificate, unless the exhibitor has a signed transfer application dated less than 45 days prior to the show date.

6. One MGR breeder number constitutes one exhibitor but exhibitor may have any number of handlers.

7. All Youth Showmanship exhibitors must know their breeder number and have the participating goat’s MGR registration certificate available.

8. To prevent the appearance of anything improper, exhibitors shall not approach the judge until the conclusion of the show. After the show ends is also the proper time to ask the judge any relevant questions.

9. Health Certificate: Every goat present for the shows must be listed by its permanent ID on a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection signed by an accredited veterinarian. The Certificate must be dated less than 30 days prior to the show. This Certificate will also meet the requirements of the state of Minnesota. Exhibitors will provide a copy of the Certificate to the show committee to keep.

10. Goats will be carefully examined at check-in for any sign of respiratory issues, abscesses, foot rot, open wounds, and other signs of illness or injury. Goats showing any of these signs will not be permitted to unload and may not be shown. PLEASE don’t bring goats with any of these issues.

11. Substitutions will be allowed at check-in within the same class at no charge as long as the animal is on the health certificate.

12. All goats must be shown with a collar and lead and be under the control of their handler at all times, particularly bucks.

13. Large classes may be split and will be at the discretion of the show secretaries.

14. Every goat on the premises must be entered in a show.

15. No smoking nor alcoholic beverages are permitted in pen areas or the arena area.

16. No percentage goats may be shown.

17. Entries postmarked after August 15 will be subject to the late entry fee as shown on the entry form. Please contact the show host when mailing late entries.

18. There will be no refunds of entry fees.

19. Exhibitors are expected to be aware of and abide by the Official Sanctioned Show Rules of the MGR. These can be found on the show page of the MGR website at www.myotonicgoatregistry.net
