Those wishing to register to audition for the Grove Production Project 2015 at Grove Theatre must be between 7 and 21 years of age in order to be eligible.

There is also a registration form at the back of this information pack. Please read the information very carefully before filling in the form. Once you have filled it in and attached a photograph of yourself, keep it safe and bring it with you to the audition.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND IT BACK IN ADVANCE.
Audition Information
The auditions will take place at the Grove Theatre as follows:
Auditions: Sunday 8th February – 10.00am registration
Recalls: Thursday 12th February – 4.30pm registration
Please arrive at the main entrance of the theatre on the day of the auditions. This will be an informal audition and you will not be required to prepare anything in advance. Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear such as trainers or dance trainers. Also bring a packed lunch, bottled water and perhaps a book to read as there will be lots of waiting around whilst others are auditioning.
Due to the large number of people who come to an audition, we have to move swiftly through people - usually in groups of ten. We hope to have seen everybody by 5.00pm but this time will depend on the amount of people at the audition. If you are asked to stay on a finishing time is hard to predict, so we suggest that you bring a mobile phone to ring home when you have finished.
If you are required to attend the recalls you will be contacted via email the day after the auditions on 8th February. Everyone will be notified in writing by Friday 28th February at the latest as to whether your audition was successful or not. We will then give you further information about the requirements of the project.
Please make every effort to be available all day on 8th February as that is the main audition day. However, if you are absolutely unable to attend we may be able to arrange a slot for you on recall day 12th February as long as you notify me as soon as possible.
Please note that although we do everything possible to make the audition process fair, there is always some disappointment. We apologise for this in advance, but the team’s decision on the day is final and further correspondence regarding this decision will not be entered into.
Remember, you only get one chance to make a good impression, so give it everything you have got and most importantly, HAVE FUN!
The Project
For fourteen intensive days, young people from the surrounding area will have the opportunity to learn from highly skilled professional theatre practitioners and then present their ability to act, sing and dance to a paying audience at the Grove Theatre.
Rehearsals will run between Saturday 25th July and Thursday 6th August 2015.
There will be four performances on:
- Thursday 6th August at 7.30pm
- Friday 7th August at 7.30pm
- Saturday 8th August at 2.30pm and 7.30pm
You must be available for all of these dates
If you are accepted for the project then you will be expected to pay a fee to cover the cost of professional tuition and expenses. The fee is £180 per person and is payable in advance by Monday 1st June 2015. The fee does not include any transport or meals, and you may be asked to bring in basic items of costume e.g. shoes etc. - this will only be items that you already have at home. Please note that the fee is non-refundable if you decide not to take part less than 4 weeks before the start of the project.
Subsidised Places
There may be a few subsidised bursary places on offer for those who genuinely cannot afford the fees. For further information and an application form, please contact Anna Elmore at the theatre.
Summary
One of the most important things about the Grove Production Project is that it is two weeks of extremely hard work that will only succeed if there is a huge team effort from everyone involved. It is also an amazing two weeks of incredible fun and excitement where you will work with and learn from a superb team of industry professionals, make new friends and gain invaluable theatre experience.
