MARTA 2017 TABLETOP EXERCISE
WELCOME PACKET
This packet provides general information for the MARTA tabletop exercise. Detailed information will be provided at the exercise.

Directions: The Carter Center is accessible using a MARTA train by taking a train to the Five Points station. At the Five Points station, catch the Number 16 Noble bus to the Carter Center. Driving directions and maps are provided below.
Parking: Parking is free of charge in the Carter Center parking lots. A shuttle will be available to transport participants to and from the parking lot.
Exercise Refreshments
Morning refreshments including coffee, sodas, water, muffins, and pastries will be provided as well as a lunch buffet will be served between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Exercise Schedule
The exercise will be held in the Cecil B. Day Chapel from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017.

Expectations of Participants
Listed below is a brief description of each type of participant and their expected role in the exercise:
§ Players. Players discuss their agency’s role in and response to the situation presented based on expert knowledge of response procedures, current plans and procedures, and insights derived from training. Most participants will be players in the exercise unless otherwise assigned by the MARTA Exercise Planning Team.
§ Observers. Observers support the group in developing responses to the situation during the discussion; however, they do not participate in the moderated discussion.
§ Facilitator. The facilitator provides situation updates and moderates discussions. The facilitator also provides additional information or resolves questions as required. Key MARTA exercise planning team members may assist with facilitation as subject matter experts during the tabletop exercise.
§ Evaluators. Evaluators observe and record the discussion during the exercise, participate in data analysis, and help draft the after action report.

Directions to the Carter Center
From North of Atlanta
1. Take I-75 or I-85 South to Exit 248C, which says "Freedom Parkway, The Carter Center."
2. Continue on Freedom Parkway about 1.8 miles, following the signs to The Carter Center.
From South of Atlanta & Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
1. Take I-75 or I-85 North to Exit 248C, which says "Freedom Parkway, The Carter Center."
2. Continue on Freedom Parkway about 1.8 miles, following the signs to The Carter Center.
From West of Atlanta
Follow the same directions as above or:
1. Begin on North Avenue.
2. Continue east (toward Decatur) on North Avenue until you come to N. Highland Avenue. You will see a neon art gallery, a gas station, and Manuel's Tavern at this intersection.
3. Turn right onto N. Highland Avenue.
4. Go to the next light at Freedom Parkway and turn right.
5. The Carter Center is on the left.
From East of Atlanta
1. Take Ponce de Leon towards downtown (west) to N. Highland.
2. Turn left on N. Highland.
3. Continue to the second traffic light at Freedom Parkway and turn right.
4. The Carter Center is on the left.
