Parent/Teacher Conferences - 5th grade is assigned by the classroom teacher. 6th – 8th grade parents do not need an appointment, they are welcome to come anytime between Noon and 7:30 on October 23 and 3:30 to 7:30 on October 24. 6th – 8th grade parents can stop by the office to pick up their student’s grade card before visiting their teachers. We hope that you will make time out of your busy schedules to come visit with your child’s teachersJ
End of the 1st Quarter is Friday, October 20. 6th – 8th grade students that are failing a core class at the end of the quarter will be given a F packet to complete at a passing grade. F packets not completed during the school year will be completed during summer school.
The Jefferson County Health Department will be providing flu shots at Jeff West Middle School on October 23 from Noon to 5 P.M. If you have any questions please call the Jefferson County Health Department at 785-863- 2447.
Booster Club fundraiser at Gambino’s on Wednesday, October 18. 20% of the purchase price will go to Jeff West Schools.
Reminder that we have Late Start this week - Bus routes will begin one-hour later on late start days so please add one hour to the normal pickup time. Buses will arrive at school at approximately8:40 amon the late start days. Parents bringing their child to school can begin dropping them off at8:40as well. Breakfast will be available to any students that typically would eat at school, starting at8:45. The typical daily routine will begin once the students arrive at school. Please contact the MS if you have any questions.

Extra Help – Reminder that we have ASAP (After School Assistance Program) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30. We also have a Saturday School on October 14 from 8 to 11.
Booster Club Game Night and Dance! Wear your Halloween Costume!! Friday, October 20, 2017! The 5th& 6th Grade will attend from 6:30 – 8:00 PM. The 7th & 8th Grade will attend from 8:00 – 10:00 PM. Admission is $3.00! Students with “F” Packets from 1st quarter will not be able to attend!

The middle school is going to have a Career Day for 7th and 8th grade students on Wednesday, November 1in the morning. Please let Mr. Hamon know if you or someone you know is interested in presenting to our students. We feel this will be a great opportunity for our students to be exposed to many different careers.
PENNIES FOR PATIENTS! We have started our annual fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. As always each class will complete against each other to see who can raise the most money with the winning class receiving a reward!
Jeff West Jr. Tiger Basketball Clinics will start on Saturday, November 4 through December 16. One session will be8:00 to 9:30and the second10:00 to 11:30
Clinic will be held at the middle school gym.
Flyers for “Darting Basketball Academy” were given to students. The camp, for students in grades 3 – 12, will be held on November 2 and 5. Cost is $60.
