Lesson Aim: Create a web gallery portfolio site

Go to www.wix.com and Click on Create.Click on 2 min demo to get a quick idea of the potential. /
Click on start creating when have seen enough.
Click on Sign Up and follow the instructions. You will need an email
address.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select: Website 1000 x 650
Select Title from the menu on the left.
Select a style from the pop-up menu.
Double click the text and put your name in. Then change the color, size and anything else using the menus at the bottom of the page.
Then drag it to the top left of your page.
Then select a Gallery format you would like to include.
Click on the Gallery that appears and select manage photos.
You will have to Add Photos to your site before you can include them.
Click Upload and navigate to you file of images. Upload them one at a time. /
Once you have uploaded some images then you can start adding the to the gallery by clicking on them so they have a green tick. Notice that they start appearing in the gallery.
When you have added all your images click OK.
It is a good idea to save you web page frequently. You can also get a preview at this stage.
Give it a title like Porfolio
Click on Background from the menu on the left and select a color or style to suite your portfolio.
Go to Document settings, select Appearance and change the color to suite you web page. And click OK.
Finally click on Publish to get your site on the internet.
Your site we have an address like:
www.wix.com/yourname/portfolio
You can send this link to friends, potential clients or employers and universities.
Type the address into a new page in internet explorer to see what it looks like.
There are infinite more things you can do with WIX. So just start creating. If you want to edit a site that you have created then go to My Account and select a page you want to edit. You can make as many pages as you like…
