Reading Marathon – “The S’more You Read, The S’more You Know,” is the theme for our PTA sponsored Reading Marathon. Students are encouraged to turn in logs, as they complete them for eligibility in the weekly drawings for free books. A medal will also be awarded to all Monarchs, who complete 8 reading logs. We have about 6 weeks left. The Marathon concludes Friday, March 16, which is also the end of the second trimester.

Box Tops Contest – PTA started a new class competition, which began 1/9, and it will last until February 17. Use the form attached to help collect and turn in easier. Students may also put them in baggies, labeled with their name and teacher’s name. Turn them all into your child’s teacher. Each class has a special basket for collection. The top class in the upper and lower grades will receive a prize. Thank you for collecting and sending.

Jog-a-Thon Awards Update – PTA sent home envelopes last week filled with all the remaining prizes and coupons. We had been waiting for those awesome custom Mariposa earbuds. Students, who earned Level 4, $100, will be invited for their Game Truck time either on Feb. 10th or Feb. 17th. The final reward for all students, who achieved Level 3, $50 in sponsor money, will have their snow cone movie party at the end of February or beginning of March. We had a little over 200 students earn Level 4, which was double the amount from last year. PTA is so excited that our “Shine” Color Run raised nearly 40K. That’s not all profit, but certainly one of Mariposa’s best fundraisers. Thank you for everyone’s support and patience with the prize distribution.
