Bach’s name translates as ‘brook’, but, as Beethoven said, his music is a vast ocean. In March 2013, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (OAE) return to Kings Place to explore what lies beneath it, as part of the Bach Unwrapped series.

Cantatas and Brandenburg Concertos, a run of three concerts conducted by renowned Bach expert John Butt, gives audiences the chance to hear some of Bach’s celebrated Brandenburg concertos, in an authentic period performance, where each concerto features a different combination of instruments and highly skilled soloists.

There’ll also be a chance to try out your vocal chords in Bach Unwrapped workshop Sing the Passions, on 23 March. Amateur singers are invited to join OAE keyboard player and professional soloist Robert Howarth, for a closer look at the Passion choruses.

On 18 May, Sam Glazer presents an energetic and entertaining Family Concert, perfect for those aged 7-11. Finally, for those with even younger classical fans there’s the ever popular OAE TOTS series. These 45 minute sessions are excellent for those aged 2-6 and their friends & families.
