Meeting called to order at 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time.
Sheriff Korzenborn called role. Sheriff’s absent: Sheriff Boggs, and Sheriff Gaines. Sheriff Korzenborn certified a quorum.
Motion was made by Sheriff Dills and seconded by Sheriff Hampton to excuse the absent board members. Motion was approved unanimously.
MINUTES OF PRIOR MEETING
A motion to approve the Minutes from May 26, 2015 made by Sheriff Peoples and seconded by Sheriff Matthews to approve the minutes of the prior meeting as written. Motion was approved unanimously.
PRESIDENT AGENDA
Welcome all guest and Sheriffs in attendances.
Introduced Captain Shawn Butler retired Chief of the Independence Police Department and now Captain at KCSO. Captain Butler is the accreditation manager for the KACP and will help to facilitate more Sheriff’s offices throughout the state to become accredited.

KSA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S REPORT
KSA Executive Director Wagner Report
KSA Director Wagner submitted the May and June financial report for the ranch. Finances are in better shape since the Ranch has started tracking with Quick Books.
Motion was made to approve the reports made by Sheriff Wright and seconded by Sheriff Matthews. Motion was approved unanimously.
The ranch camping season is closed for the summer.
Director Wagner-the KSA ranch is looking to get bids for building and liability insurance. Rates are extremely high and replacement costs of building are extremely low.
KSA Conference tentative schedule is out, see attachment. A state candidate forum is tentatively scheduled for Friday during the conference. All state wide candidates are invited to come to discuss issues pertaining to sheriff issues.
KSA Conference breakout session for CFO and bookkeeper with JW Bryant from Finance and Administration and the large mortgage companies that handle escrow accounts will be attending.
Conference rooms are set aside for the board members.
Sheriff Inspections-The KSA is working with Transportation cabinet to do an online version of the training class.
KSA Ranch Vehicle-Ticket sales are a little flat at this time about $13,000 dollars have been sold. The truck will be at the fair, a schedule will be sent out for sheriff and deputies to sign to man the booth. If you would like the truck at an event please contact the ranch or Jerry Wagner.
Retired Police-New updates have been sent out via email on the hiring of retired police officers as deputies on one year contracts. KSP retirees are now included. Go to Kentucky Retirement System for forms and information.
NSA President
Sheriff Aubrey- it was an honor to serve as the NSA President.
Sheriff Sparrow was elected to the NSA board; the NSA has great respect for the KSA.
NSA is engaged with the legislatures and working on getting military equipment through the DARMA program.
KSA- lawsuit no report.
KSA awards nominations need to be sent to Sheriff Aubrey as soon as possible to Sheriff John Aubrey.
LEGISLATIVE UPDATES
KSA Director Wagner and a few Sheriffs will be meeting with Representative Wagner relating to law enforcement issues.
The KSA will be working in the interim of the legislative session on Court Security, KLEFPF, Retirement, and Vehicle Inspections training.
NEW BUSINESS
Sheriff Cain-NSA Executive Director is working on by-laws. A an email will be sent to the association and then forwarded through the KSA emails.
Sheriff Sparrow –thanked all sheriffs and deputies help him get elected to the NSA board.
Sheriff Dills announced the retirement of Chief Deputy Troy Hagedorn, an email will be sent in reference to retirement party.
Past President Coffey requested the KSA host a Special Deputies class as it did last year. The board took no position on this.
NEW BUSINESS
Sheriff Cain- KSA Conference will be Family oriented events with Blue Grass Music, and a trip to Whittaker Guns.
Sheriff Peoples-The DEA will be picking up old prescriptions drugs from drop box program
