MPVSA Scholarship Application and Approval Guidelines
MpVSA is dedicated to providing an excellent soccer experience to all eligible players. It is our hope that no players opt out of soccer for financial reasons. Scholarships (financial assistance in the form partial payment of registration fees) will be available to needy players in accordance with the following guidelines and subject to the MpVSA scholarship budget.
All families receiving scholarship monies will be required to volunteer time for the association. MpVSA will have multiple opportunities to fulfill this requirement.
Competitive Level Players
Parents of players requesting financial assistance should:
§ Submit a completed registration and scholarship request to the coach as soon as possible upon being selected for the team.
(It is recommended that parents/players who receive scholarship funds shall make every effort to become an active member of MpVSA through a reasonable amount of volunteer efforts with their team and/or league.)
Coaches of players requesting financial assistance should:
§ Forward the player’s scholarship application to the Registrar with the team packet by the June 5th deadline.
§ Provide written support for the scholarship recipient to the Scholarship Committee upon receipt of the scholarship application.
§ Recommend volunteer efforts to the scholarship family/ player.
In order for a scholarship application to be considered by the MpVSA Scholarship committee it must:
§ Be submitted in writing to the Executive Board prior to the deadline;
§ Include written support from the team coach;
§ Demonstrate a reasonable need;
§ Be limited to up to one scholarship per team; (unless extenuating need is presented by the coach.) Partial scholarships may also be awarded.
§ Be awarded subject to the MpVSA scholarship budget.
Modified and Recreational Level Players
Parents of players requesting financial assistance should:
§ Submit a completed registration and scholarship request to the MpVSA Registrar by the league deadline (June 1st)
The MpVSA Scholarship Committee will consider MOD and REC scholarship applications that meet the following criteria:
§ Scholarship request and league registration turned in by the registration deadline;
§ Parent provided reasonable demonstration of need;
§ The amount awarded is subject to MpVSA scholarship budget.
You may qualify for scholarships if your annual incomes is less than those listed below. Maple Valley Soccer Association reserves the right to utilize a lottery system for the distribution of scholarships in the case whereby there are more applicants than funds available. Scholarships will be available to pay 50%, 25% & 10% of the program fees.

We require those requesting a scholarship; participate in three (2/3) Club fundraising activities as requested by the Board. Furthermore, we ask for family members to participate in three (2/3) Club volunteer tasks as requested by the Board.
