Job Title: Independent Award Centre (IAC) Operations Manager EMAS

Location: Flexible, any country in the EMAS region (convenient to a transport hub). Work remotely with close liaison with the EMAS regional office (based in London, England)

Reports To: EMAS Regional Director

Summary of Role

The role of the IAC Operations Manager is to support the growth of the Award through provision of training and guidance to new and existing Independent Award Centres.

Using effective research techniques, the role incumbent will identify prospective new IACs to run the Award, leading to recruitment and development of new IACs across the Europe, Mediterranean and Arab States (EMAS) region to increase representation and opportunities for both young people and leaders from diverse backgrounds.

Additional responsibility will be held for managing and ensuring compliance with licence requirements for new and existing IACs, providing support around the principles and requirements of the Award programme, and the effective use of digital tools in doing so.

Key Responsibilities

·  In conjunction with the Regional Director, develop the Regional IAC Strategy and ensure its implementation in EMAS region.

·  Support the delivery of a high quality Award Programme across the IACs in the region.

·  Ensure effective day to day contact and support for IACs and related structures in the region.

·  Schedule and undertake audit and compliance reviews with IACs in accordance with licensing requirements.

·  In conjunction with the Regional Team, actively recruit, license and induct new IACs in EMAS

·  Be responsible for the planning, promotion and management of regional IAC events in EMAS.

·  Induct and train staff and volunteers in IACs in EMAS in partnership with the other Regional staff members and the Regional Training Panel members.

·  Represent the Regional office on national IAC training initiatives and events.

·  In conjunction with the Regional Office produce and deliver a Regional IAC training strategy and calendar including the setting of and adherence to budgets and income generation targets.

·  In conjunction with the Regional Office, support the Regional training team in delivering trainings to IACs in the EMAS region as outlined in the training framework and quality assurance checks on the training delivered.

·  Produce and implement a plan for licence reviews to include a timetable and a set process to ensure a consistent approach is taken in all reviews.

·  Acting as a system super user, provide Online Record Book training and troubleshooting services and support to IACs.

·  Approve participants’ activities and Awards in EMAS region through the Online Record Book.

·  Manage the database of IACs in EMAS region and update contacts on the website

·  Contribute to the development of IAC related learning materials for the Award’s online learning platform (the Learning Hub).

·  Ensure the delivery of the Award meets International standards and work with staff and volunteers to develop strategies to maintain and improve quality.

·  Undertake any other duties as required for the successful delivery of Regional objectives.

Qualifications / Professional qualifications in teaching and/or youth work or a related field
Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) / Educated to degree level
Achieved Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award / Application Form & Qualification Certificates
Experience / Experience of running The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award
Experience of managing youth programmes and project management
Experience in the training of adults and leaders / Previous experience of working in a youth development organisation
Bi-lingual in another language to a written and oral business communication standard
Experience of Salesforce or similar data management tool / Application Form & Interview
Knowledge / Knowledge of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award
Cultural awareness and sensitivity / Interview
Skills and Abilities / Able to demonstrate leadership and decision making skills
Able to organise and plan effectively.
Ability to communicate and network effectively at all levels.
Ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders

Circumstances / Full time role working Monday to Friday with some flexibility required on or around the lead up to regional events.
Must be eligible to work in the country they are situated in.
Must be willing to travel on behalf of the Foundation, sometimes with overnight stays.
Overtime is not payable, though hours worked over and above standard contract can be taken in lieu of payment (in line with policy)
