Job Description for Field Education Intern

12 hours/week, September-June 2010

1. Responsibilities

· Coordinate the Ratification Campaign of Presbyterian Welcome by notifying constituents of voting dates in a spirit of prayer through Facebook and Twitter and updating the website with links to resources for individuals to explore.

· Maintain our Facebook and Twitter presence by posting relevant information concerning LGBTQ issues in a religious context.

· Update Facebook, Twitter, and help with website to publicize upcoming events.

· Maintain communication with constituencies through Facebook and Twitter

· Brainstorm, and with supervision, enact ways to make our website more user-friendly and up-to-date.

2. Tasks for Fall 2010

· Daily:

o Update Facebook Status and posted items

o Invite new facebook friends

o Check News Sources to track and archive both popular news stories and PC(USA) news stories of interest to the LGBT Presbyterian/Christian community

o Email communications

· Weekly:

o With supervision, update Presbyterian Welcome website, especially home page posts, think about upcoming events

o Check Google Analytics and Facebook stats

o Communicate with constituency as needed regarding special events or news through email list-serv, website, and facebook

· In the Spring do the above and also:

· Preach in a Member Church

· Coordinate Pride March, including

1. Chairing Pride planning committee; coordinating supplies (signs, hand-outs, etc) to reflect theme

2. Coordinate volunteers around preparations for Pride

3. Communicating with Member Church pastors, office staff, and liaisons to publicize in their communities

4. Manage Pride webpage, publicize through all networks weekly in June
