Expectations and Contract

By signing my name, I understand that I will be expected to follow the list of expectations below. In addition, I have reviewed the removal system contract and agree to its consequences.

1.  Must be committed to serving the FFA chapter and its members.

2.  Must want to constantly endeavor to improve his/her own personal development and his/her abilities to serve the membership and must therefore be open to the constructive evaluation of his/her teammates and that of the advisors to the chapter officer team.

3.  Must complete his/her work assignments on time and in a quality fashion.

4.  Must put in whatever hours are required to meet his/her responsibilities and assignments.

5.  Will not use or consume any tobacco products, illegal drugs, or alcohol

6.  Will not miss an assigned responsibility without prior approval from the FFA Advisor

7.  Will not use profane, crude, rude, vulgar or offensive language.

8.  Will not engage in the telling of tasteless or offensive jokes, stories etc. nor will he/she engage in any conservations of poor taste or dealing with less than moral conduct

9.  Will compete in at least 1 career development event competition for the year

10.  Will not spread gossip and rumor

11.  Will maintain the ethics of the officer team by discussing team matters (positive and negative) only with the officer teammates and the advisors to the officer team

12.  Will always be completely honest with his/her officer teammates and the advisor to the FFA officer team

13.  Will not express disrespect for the authority of adults. Will not express disrespect for the opinion of others.

14.  Will attend summer officer training and all other required leadership training events.

15.  Will always wear the official FFA dress uniform only during official FFA functions.

19.  Will follow all school rules; grades will be kept above a 2.00 GPA at all times including progress reports.

ISLANDS HIGH SCHOOL FFA OFFICER REMOVAL SYSTEM 2017-2018

Being an officer is an honor and definitely has its privileges. There are certain expectations to be met. Below is the policy and point system for the officer team. The point system carries over from time of installment as an officer to retirement at the FFA banquet the following year.

IF AN OFFICER OBTAINS 3 POINTS, THEY WILL BE ON PROBATION.

IF AN OFFICER OBTAINS 4 POINTS, THEY WILL BE REMOVED FROM FFA OFFICE.

0.5 Points:
Tardy for an officer meeting

Tardy for an FFA meeting

Tardy for a mandatory FFA function

1 Point:

Missing an officer meeting

Missing a mandatory FFA function

Missing an FFA meeting without a legitimate excuse given with prior notice

Conduct unbecoming an FFA officer (minimum deduction)

3 Points: (Automatic Probation)

In school suspension (for any reason)

Grade below 70 on any report card

AUTOMATIC RELEASE FROM OFFICE:

Out of school suspension (for any reason)

Arrest (for any reason)

Smoking, drinking, dipping, violence, or extreme PDA during any school or FFA event.

Other Point deductions:

Violations of the FFA Code of Ethics will also be taken into consideration and assigned point values based upon individual cases.

*Excused tardies and absences with prior notice of at least 48 hours (given to both secretary and advisor) will result in a 0.5 reduction for all officer meetings, chapter meetings, and any other required event. Emergency situations (sudden illness) or family tragedies will not result in point deductions.

**officers on probation will not be permitted to attend meetings, competitions, social events, or any other FFA events within a minimum four week probationary period. After the four week probationary period the advisors and officer team will meet with the officer to consider release from probationary status.

***once sufficient evidence of grade improvement (C or higher in class) is presented to the advisor, the 3 points will be deducted. However, the officer will remain on probation for the entire 4 weeks.
