In order to improve the service provided to residents of Glastonbury

The new position of

COMMUNITY WARDEN

has arisen

The ideal candidate will like working outdoors in all weathers, be experienced in the operation of horticultural machinery, prepared to work alone as well as part of a team and undertake appropriate training

This role requires:

· Good communication skills

· Supervisory experience including volunteer co-ordination

· A clean driving licence

· Basic IT skills

Duties will include minor highways works and maintenance, drainage and horticultural maintenance, landscaping works, maintaining records and liaising with the Town Hall Manager, Somerset County Highways Department and other agencies. You will act as the eyes and ears for the community, highlighting and dealing with problems such as graffiti and other damage caused by anti-social behaviour.

You will be based in Glastonbury but will be expected to carry out occasional duties in Sharpham Parish

In return we offer the following:

· Starting salary of £17802 per annum (Local Government SCP 19)

· A flexible 37 hour week with occasional overtime at weekends; ‘on call’ at short notice

· 22 days holiday

· Membership of the Somerset County Council Superannuation Scheme

· Training where necessary
