Observations:

June 2nd, 2003

Control – no mold

Bread with pond scum- no mold on the bread. There is a lot of condensation in the bag. The bread is wet and soggy. You cant see the middle of the bread.

June 6th, 2003

Control- no mold.

Bread with pond scum- there is mold. Mold is on the outside of the algae. The mold is fuzzy and gray.

June 9th,

Control- no mold.

Bread with pond scum- the mold is very fuzzy. It looks wet. The mold is green white and gray.

Conclusion:

My hypothesis was correct. I think it was right because it would take at least 2 days. I also figured it would take less than 5 days, because a regular piec of bread would take at least 5 days.

Mold grows on different surfaces at different rates. Mold is very fuzzy and it is different sizes. There are many different kinds of mold. Mold is different shapes sizes and colors. It can spread different diseases and cause allergic reactions.

If I did this experiment again I would use old cheese. It would grow mold fast because it is old and rotten.
