Approval and deletion of ITU-T Recommendations

A.1 By TSB Circular 156 of 25 March 2003, it was announced that the following ITU-T Recommendations were deleted, in accordance with the procedures outlined in Resolution 1, Section9 of the WTSA (Montreal, 2000):

– ITU-T Recommendation E.141 (12/03/1993): Instructions for operators on the operator-assisted international telephone service

– ITU-T Recommendation E.215 (30/05/1997): Telephone/ISDN numbering plan for the mobile-satellite services of Inmarsat

– ITU-T Recommendation F.125 (31/08/1993): Numbering plan for access to the mobile-satellite services of INMARSAT from the international telex service

The conditions governing the deletion of these ITU-T Recommendations were met and 27Member States participating in the meeting of Study Group 2 (Geneva, from 26 November to 6December 2002) proposed to delete these ITU-T Recommendations. 14 Administrations of Member States responded to the consultation on 20 March 2003, and no objection to this deletion was received.

A.2 By TSB AAP-51 of 1 April 2003, it was announced that the following ITU-T Recommendations were approved, in accordance with the procedures outlined in ITU-T Recommendation A.8:

Communication of 31.III.2003:

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), Quezon City, announces that the telegram service in the Philippines is virtually non-existing anymore due to the introduction and proliferation of the use of cellular mobile phones for text messaging and that the same is only available in a very limited instance, specifically in remote areas where government and private carrier’s facilities exist. For the international telegram service, only Philcom provides the service.

Communication of 4.IV.2003:

United Telecommunication Services (UTS / Antelecom), Curaçao, announces that as of April1st2003, it will terminate the service providing its carriers incoming collect calls to all mobile and fixed subscriber numbers of the islands on the Netherlands Antilles, which are received via UTS / Antelecom. The Netherlands Antilles consist out of Bonaire, Curaçao, Dutch St. Maarten, Saba and St.Eustatius. As of the above-mentioned date, UTS / Antelecom will not be responsible for incoming collect calls forwarded to its customers.
