IMDS instructions for Suppliers
Follow these steps
1. Please visit www.mdsystem.com
2. Go to “Public IMDS pages” (right side of the page) – “Contact” (left side of the page)-“Online Registration”
3. Register your company (It is free)
4. You will get a Client Manager ID and a Password
5. The Client Manager ID is a special user ID that allows you to create users for your company. If you already have a Client Manager for your company, see them for a logon.
6. Download training material from

7. Also read the FAQ section under Public IMDS pages
8. Common materials are already loaded into the system. You will need to create a material database for any uncommon materials that you use or alloys/plastics/etc specific to your company.
9. You then Create a component and attach a material to that component. Then send data to AAM through this web based system.
10. The location that you send the MDS to depends on which plant you will be supplying the parts to. Use this as a legend:

Do not send your IMDS submission without a destination code from the table above. We will not be able to audit and approve it.
