Beginner ESL

I. Course Description

Beginner ESL students will increase their communicative competence in English. Students will read a variety of texts both fiction and nonfiction. Students will relate their background knowledge to given reading when appropriate. Students will increase their ability in speaking skills by asking questions and participating in mainstream classes to the best of their abilities. Students will improve their writing skills by writing on a daily basis for the purpose of personal reflection. Students will do oral presentations.

Fact/Opinion

15. Complete book summaries.

(Possible choices are:)

dramas, pop-up books, mobile, diary, biopoem, written or video taped summaries and present the finished product.
