Human Body Systems Project

Assigned System: ___________________________, Number _____

You will be assigned a human body organ system to research. You and your partners will have 10-15 minutes to TEACH your topic to the class. This project will require you to research, create a Google Presentation and speak in front of the class.

DUE DATE: Research Notes (including Works Cited): _________

DUE DATE: Google Presentation ________

DUE DATE: Classroom Speech ________

You will have access to the library with its books and computers to create and work on this project, but outside class time will be necessary to complete this project. Remember to record your sources of information. Each member will create a “works cited” page.

In your group you will create a presentation to educate your classmates about your assigned human body system. You will be graded individually on your research notes/Works Cited, the slide(s) you create and your speech. The presentation slides must include the following requirements:

Introduction/Title Page

Give the name of your body system, identify where the system is located, add appropriate graphics, include all team members’ names.

I. Diagrams of Major Organs

Include a diagram of your body system with the major organs or parts of your system. Each major organ or part must be labeled with its name and function.

II. Teamwork/Functions

Explain how your assigned body system works with other systems in the body. What could happen if something went wrong with your body system and how might that affect other body systems?

III. Disorders/Diseases/Staying Healthy

List and explain one to two disorders or diseases that are associated with your body system. Also, explain what humans can do to keep your assigned body system healthy.

IV. Fascinating Facts

Find five (5) fascinating facts about your body system, or its organs or parts, that most people don’t already know.

V. Physiology

Choose one or two organs of your body system and present, in detail, HOW they work.

VI. Activity

Describe and perform an activity that relates to your body system. Can you involve the class?

Works Cited (All)

Include a separate works cited page that lists the resources used during your research. You may use your textbook, other text references, and online resources. You must use at least one text reference and one online resource. Works Cited is REQUIRED before you will be allowed to proceed to the Google Presentation.

The presentation must be made with Google Presentation. It must include at least six (6) slides. SHARE work in progress with all team members. Give EDITING privileges to ONLY.
