How to get French language symbols on an English keyboard.
Printing é ? à or any of the other language symbols on an English keyboard requires a series of special key combinations. These combinations all involve the ALT key, located here or here, and the number keys on your keypad here.
If you don’t have a key pad you can use the number keys across the top of your keyboard. If you wish to use the keypad, be sure to press the NumLock key to activate your keypad
Now to get any one of the symbols to appear, hold down an ALT key and type the number combination next to the symbol you want. Then release the ALT key.
When you release the ALT key the symbol will appear. Tip: Many people will use these key combinations right at the beginning of the document and then copy and paste them wherever they are needed. The symbols and their key combinations follow:
