Thanks for taking an interest in Lovinggood Student Council. Student council is a year-long commitment of service to Lovinggood and the community. Please review Section VI of the Lovingggood Middle School Student Council Constitution below. Article VI discusses behavioral expectations of members and outlines those behaviors that will dismiss members. If you have a history of these types of behaviors, LMSSC may not be for you. It is important that you understand that as a member of the council, you represent our school and your actions reflect on our organization as well as Lovinggood Middle School.
Article VI
Section I: An officer or a homeroom representative may be removed from office for repeated failure to attend meetings (3), failure to carry out his or her duties as an officer or representative, receiving an N as a conduct grade, receiving detention for excessive documentations, receiving an in-school or out of school suspension during the course of his/her term in office or for any other actions that are detrimental to the welfare and best interests of the school.
All applicants must obtain recommendations from 3 former or current teachers. Recommendation forms may be obtained from Ms. Russell in room 609. Teachers completing the forms will forward them to Ms. Russell. They will not be given back to the students.

Parental Permission
I understand and support my child’s decision to participate in Lovinggood Student Council. I have reviewed this application thoroughly with my child. If my child participates, I understand that attendance is critical to the success of the Council’s activities. Meetings are held twice a month before or after school hours. Although participation in the Student Council will be an enriching experience, students should keep academic achievement as their highest priority. Committee meetings/work sessions may be held before/after school as needed and there is no transportation provided. Members need to be picked up promptly after meetings.
