Hourly Rate Staff Salary Regulations

Chapter 1. The general

Article 1 Object

These Regulations set forth matters relating to salary in accordance with Article 24 of Greenpeace Japan Hourly Rate Staff Work Regulations with respect to hourly rate staff for Greenpeace Japan.

Article 2 Applicable Scope

These Regulations are applicable to employees providing for the working regulation.

Article 3 Composition of wages

1. Wages are provided by divide of providing as follows.

(1) basic salary

(2) extra wage

1) overtime allowance, night work allowance and holiday work allowance

2) commutation allowance

2. Another in preceding clause, GJP is likely to grant an allowance temporarily or provisionally.

Article 4 Figuration of basic salary

The payment figuration of the basic salary shall be hourly rates system.

Chapter 2 Calculation and Payment of Wages

Article 5 Calculation of work hours

The unit that counts time is shall be one minute.

Article 6 Period of Salary calculation and Date of Payment

Calculated wages from first day through the last day of corresponding month shall be paid on 25th of following month. In cases when payday falls on national holidays, wages shall be paid on advance day of payday.

Article 7 Method of payment

Salary shall be paid in full directly to hourly rate plan staff in cash. However, salary may, with the consent of the member of hourly rate plan staff in question, be paid into a stipulated savings account in a bank.

Article 8 Deduction of Salary

The following shall be deducted from said salary.

(1) Income tax collected at source

(2) Residence tax

(3) Health insurance premiums (including long-term care insurance) and premiums for employees' pension plan (employees' share)

(4) Unemployment insurance premiums (employees' share)

(5) Amounts recognized as deductible from salary in accordance with the agreement.

Article 9 combine of works

It shall records individually in the time card when taking charge of two or more works with different hourly rates.

Article 10 Absence, late and the other

In the cases of not on work by absence, late, leave early or away for private matters, the equivalent value is not shall be paid.

Chapter 3 Basic Salary and Novation (raise salary, etc)

Article 11 Basic Salary

Basic salary shall be determined in an individual contract in consideration of the work content.

Article 12 Novation

the renewal of contract (raise salary etc) of the hourly rate staff is done in consideration of the work period, the work performance and skill.

Chapter 4 Allowance and Bonus

Article 13 Overtime allowance, Night work allowance and Holiday work allowance

1 Overtime allowance, Night work allowance and Holiday allowance shall be paid as calculated using the following equations.

(1) Extra payments for overtime work (in the case of working over eight hours a day or legal hours in a week)

hourly wage×1.25×hours of overtime work

(2) Extra payments for work on holidays

1) work on legal holiday

hourly wage×1.35×hours of work on holiday

2) On holidays that exceeds one day of the week, overtime working the statutory working hour of the week.

Holliday work allowance shall not be paid for work carried out on non-statutory holidays. the regular payment shall be paid in this case.

(3) Extra payments for night work (work on 10:00 pm to 5:00 am)

hourly wage×0.25×hours of night work

Article 14 Commuting Allowance

The person, who commutes by using a usual most economical route and transportation, shall be paid the actual expenses by prescribed written report.

Article 15 Provision of bonus

As a rule, the bonus is not provided for the hourly rates system staff.

Article 16 Retirement allowance

As a rule, the retirement allowance is not provided for the hourly rates system staff.

Chapter 5 Other

Article 17 Salary during Periods of Leave

1. Annual paid leave: the period of annual paid leave shall be deemed to be working time and wages for scheduled working hours shall be paid.

2. Pre- and post-natal leave, leave of absence for maternal welfare, child care leave and family care leave in accordance with Child Care and Family Care Leave Law, nursing time, menstral leave: wages shall not be paid during periods of these leaves.

3. Period of marital or bereavement leave : wages shall be paid.

4. In cases where a member of GPJ staff returns after taking unpaid leave or leave of absence, the member in question shall pay premiums of social insurances (employee's share) during said periods in the form of deductions from wages. In cases where a member of GPJ staff resigns after taking unpaid leave or leave of absence, the member in question shall pay premiums of social insurances (employee's share) during said periods upon resignation.

Article 18 Applicable Laws

Matters unregulated in this regulation shall be in accordance with The Labor Standards Law.
