Purpose: To encourage and promote good sportsmanship, competitive swimming among age group swimmers and to have fun. Good sportsmanship is required of all athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators.

Facility: The Fargo Davies Pool is an eight (8) lane, 25 yard pool. The pool is 13’6”ft. deep at the starting end and 4’6” ft. deep at the turn end. The competition pool conforms to USA Swimming Rules and Regulations – 2010 Article 103.3. The pool has not been certified in accordance with USA Swimming requirements 104.2 C (3).

Concessions: Full concessions will be available during this meet.

Food and Container Policy: ABSOLUTLY NO GLASS CONTAINERS WILL BE ALLOWED BEHIND THE BLEACHERS, ON THE BLEACHERS, IN THE LOCKER ROOMS AND POOL AREAS. PERSONS IN VIOLATION OF THIS POLICY WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE AQUATIC FACILITY.

No food, or anything other than water is allowed on pool deck or locker rooms. As per Davies school policy. This is a new school rule as of 2014. All food and snacks must be consumed off deck for everyone no exception!

TEAMS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANING UP THEIR AREAS AT THE CONCLUSION OF EACH SESSION.

Programs: Programs containing seeded events for all sessions will be available for purchase. The estimated start times will be posted in the programs but will not be used as the official timeline.

Internet Information: Meet Mobile will have the published Psych sheet as well as NDswimming.org

Officials: All officials will be USA Swimming certified officials. To be eligible to officiate at the state meet, an official must have officiated at least one meet in the current season. Apprentice officials are not allowed. An Officials meeting will be held 1 Hour before the start of each Session.

Uniform for officials is a white North Dakota Officials polo shirt with Khaki shorts, pants or skirts, with white shoes.

Coaches and Officials Hospitality: A hospitality room will be provided for coaches and officials.

Athlete Conduct: All athletes will be required to adhere to the NDLSC Code of Conduct.

USA Swimming Membership: All swimmers must be a current 2014 -2015 registered athlete member of US Swimming. Current 2014 USA Swimming coaches’ registration with required additional certification is required of all Coaches. Coaches must wear their credentials while on deck.

Racing Start Proficiency: Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member-coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.

Course Certification: The competition pool conforms to USA Swimming Rules and Regulations, Article 103.3. The competition course has not been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C (3) and (4).

Swimsuits: Current US Swimming policies governing swimsuits will be in effect and enforced.


Deck Changing: Changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is prohibited.

Audio or Visual Recording Devices: Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms.
Per NDLSC Policy No cell phones, cameras, or any other recording devices are allowed behind and starting area on deck at all times.

Meet Jury: A meet jury will be formed by the meet referee. It will consist of one official (not the Meet Referee), and a Coaches' Rep. from the smallest and largest teams represented.

Until the Meet Jury renders a decision, the swimmer may compete under protest. An announcement to this effect shall be made prior to the race. The results of any race conducted under protest shall not be announced, nor prizes awarded, nor points scored until the jury has determined if and how their decision may affect the final scoring or awards.

The decision of the jury may be appealed by either party to the NDLSC Board of Review, pursuant to Article 401. Protests submitted after the last day of the championships shall be submitted directly to the NDLSC Board of Review.

Timing: Daktronics electronic timing system with two backup buttons and watches, horn start, and touch pads at the start of the pool.

Changes to the Meet Information: Any changes to the meet information will be discussed, reviewed, and voted on at the coaches meeting held before the beginning of the first session of the day. Changes must be approved by a unanimous vote of coaches in attendance at the appointed meeting.

Rules: Current USA Short Course rules and safety policies as adopted by the NDLSC and USA Swimming Rules and Regulations 2014 edition will govern the meet. This is a timed final meet. There will be a Clerk of Course. Swimmers should appear at designated area which will be addressed at the coaches meeting prior to the start of the meet Swimmers arriving at the blocks and not ready to swim when their heat is called will be scratched from the event. Individual and relay events will not be accepted with no times (NT). Swimmers names, USA registration numbers and order of swimmers for relays are to be submitted with entries. Entry and Relay cards will not be used for this meet. The whistle protocol and horn start with no recall for false starts will be used. The Meet Referee has the right to combine any events or heats.

Warm-Up and Safety Policy: Warm-ups will be a minimum of one hour. North Dakota Swimming, Inc. warm-up procedures and safety guidelines will be in effect at this meet. Backstroke swimmers must step into the water feet first. Safety Marshalls will remind all swimmers and athletes on deck of any violation of NDLSC and US Swimming safety policies. Only Swimmers, coaches, officials, and working volunteers will be allowed on the pool deck. The locker rooms are for swimmers only. Safety Marshals will check credentials.

Swimmers without a Coach Present: USA Swimming athlete members must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming member coach during warm-up, competition, and warm-down. The Meet Director or Meet Referee shall assist the athlete in arranging for such supervision. Coaches are encouraged to make arrangements in advance if they cannot attend the meet with their swimmers.

Eligibility/Meet Type: Age as of March 13, 2015 shall determine age group for swimmers, including age group relays. On deck registration is not allowed for this meet.

Awards: Relay ribbons – 1st – 8th place for all age groups

Individual ribbons – 1st – 16th place for all age groups

Trophies individual age group high point awards 1st – 5th

Team high point awards 1st – 3rd

All ties will be broken (no ties for high point) by using the HY-TEK Age Group Points

Scoring and Awards will be based on USA Swimming’s Standard Age Groups 6 & Under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16 , and 17-18, 19 & Older will score but no awards.

Entry Limitations:
Friday session 1. Swimmers are limited to two (2) individual events and (1) relay event
Saturday session 2. Swimmers are limited to four (4) individual events and (1) relay event.
Saturday session 3. Swimmers are limited to three (3) individual events and (1) relay event.

Relays are all mixed and are scored that way. If you want a male or female relay that is your option, but still are scored with the mixed relays. In the effort to keep the scoring fair we ask that only your top three (3) relays from each age group are eligible to score point.

Swim-ups will be allowed but are not eligible to score points in those events

Open Lane Swims: The splash fee is $5.00. Sign-up is on a first come basis at the timing table. Swimmers must be registered in the swim meet in order to have the opportunity to participate in Open Lane Swims. In the event of a missed heat, swimmers may only swim in their own age group and only in the same event and distance that they were originally entered. Swimmers may swim events for which they have no times. Swimmers may not exceed the event limit of four events including Open Lane Swims. Swimmers may scratch an event in order to swim on Open Lane Swim to stay within the entry limit. No refunds will be given for scratched events. Deck entries will be allowed if space is available and at the discretion of the Meet Referee. Deck entry swims will not be scored

Time Trials: will not be offered

Meet Schedule

Friday PM Session I is combined; all age groups will swim.

Saturday is a split with Session II in the AM being all 10 and under boys and girls.

Saturday Session III in the PM will include all 11 and over boys and girls.

SCHEDULE:

Friday PM Session I

Warm-ups will begin at 4:00 pm on Friday March 13, 2015 for all age groups. The meet will begin at 5:15pm.

Saturday AM Session II

Warm-ups will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday March 14, 2015. For all 10 and under boys and girls. Session II will start at 10:15 am.

Saturday PM Session III

Warm-ups will start approximately 10 minutes after the morning session has concluded. For all 11 and over boys and girls. Session III will begin approximately 1hour 15 minutes after the start of warm-ups.
