RECITING THE ALPHABET

Many children in our class have difficulties saying the middle part of the alphabet (LMNO). Please practice this at home. You can show your child an alphabet chart and have them point and say each letter.

FOUR SEASONS:

Four seasons in a year, I can name all four do you want to hear?

Let’s get ready and say them all: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall!

THIS WEEK we will be talking about the book THE MITTEN by Jan Brett and the version by Jim Aylesworth. We will practice sequencing, patterning, counting, sorting by characters in the book and not in the book, and talking about 2016 and the new year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We will have the students make a new years resolution poster in class this week!

HANDWRITING

This week during handwriting time we will be practicing slanted lines and some slanted line letters, such as V, W, and X. Please practice at home as well! We will also be practicing writing our names.

Mrs. Johnson is out this week. Please help us logistically by putting all notes and money in an envelope that includes your child’s first and last name and teacher.

Please work with your child on putting on his/her coat and zipping it up! It is supposed to be cold on a couple of days, so please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the playground! Thanks!
