a. Short-term Goals: Enhanced collaboration between the public, private and nonprofit interests in Chico that can continue beyond program funding to assist the City with its stormwater program implementation. Increased knowledge and changed behaviors regarding the sources of and solutions to urban runoff, documented by the results of a public knowledge survey conducted at the end of the project. Increased watershed stewardship and level of watershed knowledge, exhibited by a robust and technically valid citizen monitoring program. Successful application of an existing monitoring protocol to structural treatment control BMPs used in Chico, resulting in changes to the City’s stormwater program siting, design and maintenance criteria for the BMPs.
b. Long-term Goals: Reduced pollution and habitat impacts in Chico’s creeks and support of a community-based approach to managing Chico’s stormwater.
