GOD’S PROMISES OF ABUNDANCE AND PROSPERITy - Part 1

ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

1. Goal

God’s people will realize that the Lord wants to give them abundant life. He promises to prosper His people who are faithful to Him and serve Hi m.

2. Introduction

Isaiah 55:11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

God will do what He promises. Every promise of God is yea and amen. Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” He wants to give us abundance which means no lack. We should know Biblical principles that allow God’s promises to become reality.

Proverbs 8:17-18 I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me. 18 With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity.

God loves those who love Him and seek Him. He is the source of riches, honor, wealth and prosperity.

3. Question

What should you do in order to come out from lack into abundance?

4. Content

We should pursue God’s promises by faith and obedience. These are Biblical principles regarding abundance and prosperity:

A. Deuteronomy 28:1-2, 12-13 If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2 All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God: 12 The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. 13 The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.

Deuteronomy 8:6-7 Observe the commands of the LORD your God, walking in his ways and revering him. 7 For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land --a land with streams and pools of water, with springs flowing in the valleys and hills;

Deuteronomy 8:11-14, 17-18 Be careful that you do not forget the LORD your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day. 12 Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down, 13 and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied, 14 then your heart will become proud and you will forget the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 17 You may say to yourself, "My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me." 18But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today.

Obeying God wholeheartedly is an important key to receiving God’s abundance. We should be humble before the Lord and remember that He is the One who gives us the ability to produce wealth.

B. Job 36:11 If they obey and serve him, they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity and their years in contentment.

If we obey and serve the Lord fully, we will not lack. Instead, we will live in prosperity and contentment.

C. Proverbs 3:9-11 Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; 10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. 11 My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline and do not resent his rebuke,

We should honor our Lord with our wealth. We are willing to use our money, talents, time and material possessions to glorify His name and to expand His kingdom.

D. Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

2 Corinthians 9:6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

Giving is another key to abundance and prosperity. The principle of sowing and reaping is a heavenly truth. The more we sow, the more we reap or receive. God wants us to be generous like Him. We never outgive God. We should give to God’s work. We can also give to the needy.

Proverbs 19:17 He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.

The King James version says, “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will He pay him again.”
