Getting Started with VoiceThread

· Go to http://ed.voicethread.com/

· Click on “Sign In or Register”

· Sign in to an existing account or click Register if you’re a new user. Use your BCPS email address!

· Once you are signed in to your account, you’ll see the basic account navigation page. Notice the three important tabs at the top: Browse, Create, and My Voice.

3 Steps to Creating a VoiceThread

Step 1: Select and upload the media

· Click the Create tab

· Select Upload

· Select the source of the media

Step 2: Add comments in text, voice, or video

· Select Comment

· Use the right and left arrow buttons at the bottom of the slide to pan through your slides. To comment, select a commenting option.

Step 3: Share

· Decide if you want to share with individuals or with a group, and what settings you’d like to control. Click on the “menu” and then the “Share” button on the VoiceThread in the “My Voice” tab.


· You can share with groups, with individuals, etc. Select the “eye” icon to allow groups/individuals to view the VoiceThread, and the “speech” icon to allow groups/individuals to comment on the VoiceThread.

· Clicking on the “Get a Link to Share” button will permit you to set general options and then copy the link of the VoiceThread to paste in a class website, or send in an email.
