Empire Cabling, Inc. (ECI) was founded in 1999 and is dedicated exclusively to the field of fiber optics for communications. The management and staff have extensive experience in the fiber optics industry dating back to the early 1980’s.

Engineering Services
ECI offers customers knowledgeable and professional fiber optic engineering services. These services are delivered by experienced engineers and field technicians. With numerous fiber optic installations to date in premises, telephony, utility, studio, all government levels and CalTrans environments, ECI offers practical, cost effective and quality solutions.
These engineering services include the following contractor assistance and subcontract services:
· Network engineering, design and consulting
· Initial development and design/proposal preparation
· Job estimation/bidding
· On-the-job assistance
· Fiber optic technician and/or crew support
· Project consulting
ECI contractor assistance and subcontract services are geared to meet each customer's specific needs, project by project. These services are provided on a T&M basis or on a fixed cost basis.
Network Design and Site Survey
An experienced ECI design engineer, well-versed in industry standards for voice, data and video communications (TIA/EIA-568A, IEEE 802, FDDI, BICSI, SCTE and major OEM’s, etc.) will visit your site to:
· Discuss communications requirements
· Inspect available cable routes
· Develop a superior, flexible, installable, cost-effective design
· Recommend cable and hardware products and physical location
· Identify splicing, terminating and testing requirements, and recommend solutions
· Identify potential problem areas
· Provide written documentation and diagrams of recommendations and options
On-the-Job Assistance
ECI field engineers and/or technicians will come to the project site and work with your crew to explain, demonstrate and perform the proper and most cost-effective means of splicing, terminating and testing the fiber optic cable system. Our staff can provide the tools and test equipment needed to install the cable plant. We provide assistance in the skills required specifically for any project, including:
· Proper sheath removal
· Hardware preparation and assembly
· Fusion and/or mechanical splicing
· Field installation of connectors
· Custom patch cords and jumper assemblies
· Use of an OTDR and attenuation or bandwidth test equipment
Take advantage of ECI years of field experience and get your project completed in a professional manner with quality results.
On-Site Technical Assistance
· Advise installation personnel on proper cable placement techniques
· Advise personnel on proper methods for splicing, terminating and testing options
· Recommend means to increase efficiency, productivity and overall quality
Subcontract Services
ECI supplies a number of support services, including bid or design support, on-site technical assistance, contract fiber optic splicing, terminating and testing, or fiber optic troubleshooting and restoration. ECI’s workmanship and quality are of the highest standard, providing the customer with a reliable cable system. Complete as-built and test result records are provided, as required.
ECI will provide a fully trained, experienced crew of technicians to perform fiber optic splicing, terminating and/or testing services on pre-installed cable. Services include:
· Competitive pricing on a time-and-materials, unit-work or fixed-price basis
· Work completed according to industry standards and ECI’s field-proven procedures
· Use of state-of-the-art equipment and procedures
· Fully tested work in accordance with industry standards, performed with properly calibrated equipment
· Complete and professional documentation provided to the customer including OTDR traces, light source and power meter testing in CD or booklet format
Troubleshooting and Restoration Services
· Emergency restoration (designed to accommodate customer requirements)
· Cable failure determination
· Locate the cable system’s fault
· Assist the customer in procuring the necessary materials for restoration purposes
· Perform restoration services to quickly restore a failed cable system
· Fully test and document the restored cable system
ECI Troubleshooting and Restoration Services are available on a maintenance contract basis with an agreed-upon response time or on an as-required, as-available basis.
