Mosaic ATM/Data Science is seeking an experienced & well rounded, full-time System Administrator in the Northern Virginia/Washington, DC Metro area with a passion for IT and open source technologies.
Mosaic ATM/Data Science is a dynamic and growing technology consulting firm specializing in aviation/air traffic control system development and data analysis. The System Administrator works with the IT Manager and other staff to support organization’s technology requirements. Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
· General administration of cloud services, virtual environments, Linux, Windows, web servers, firewalls, Active Directory, file shares, storage, databases, phones, security applications, & monitoring systems.
· Work with other staff to recommend and design systems architecture and topology from both general and specific perspectives.
· Design, implement, and evaluate current and future infrastructure initiatives for the highest level of efficiency and performance
· Perform problem diagnosis, troubleshooting and resolution.
· Perform system installations and maintenance.
· Document & update existing installation, configuration, deployment & maintenance procedures.
· Train new hires on the proper use of new systems and services available.
· Other special projects as assigned by management to improve administration of the IT infrastructure.
Qualifications:
· RHCSA, LFCS, or Linux+ certification required.
· 5-7 years experience with RHEL/CentOS Linux, specifically with server configuration, troubleshooting, and patch management.
· Must have strong debugging and systems analysis skills to be able to identify and quickly resolve/mitigate issues.
· Ability to support CentOS Linux, Windows desktop/servers, and Active Directory is a must.
· Experience managing and deploying AWS or other cloud based services.
· Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, architecture, and core technologies (such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, Routing, VPN).
· Good interpersonal and technical communication skills.
· U.S. citizen or otherwise fully authorized to work in the U.S.
Desired Skills and Experience:
· Experience with Redhat(RHEL)/CentOS, Windows Server 2008/2012, Windows 7/8/10 operating systems.
· Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud platforms.
· Experience with Atlassian products; JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Fisheye, and Crowd.
· Experience with Virtualization technologies; XenServer, Vmware, & KVM.
· Experience with DevOps technologies (Puppet, Jenkins, Nexus, Containers).
· Experience working with Open Source software.
· PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL, and Oracle experience is a plus.
· Shell, Python, or other scripting language experience is a plus.
· Data warehousing and big data products experience is a plus.
· Ceph software defined storage experience a plus.
