Bryant to Introduce Two New Grinders at IMTS 2004

Booth B-6836

(Springfield, VT – June 2004) The company will introduce its Opus ID grinder and the Bryant Model B+ at the Chicago show, September 8 – 15, booth B-6836.

The Opus grinder is one Bryant has been promoting for several months. This high production ID grinder is ideal for mid-size applications in the automotive and bearing industries. Key specifications include bore sizes from 0.40” to 7” (10 mm – 177 mm), and bore lengths to 3”. State-of-the-art linear motors provide reliable positioning and slide resolution is .00004in (.1 micron), and rapid rate is 2,400 ipm (60 m/min). Opus is controlled by a GE Fanuc 16i CNC.

The Bryant Model B+ grinder is designed to replace the Bryant Model B, of which there are hundreds of installations in the US. This machine is ideal for bore grinding miniature ball bearing inner and outer rings, bore grinding lifter rollers, and many other small bore part requirements. Its X and Z travel range is 3” x 3”. Accuracy is .0002” (5micron) with .000004” (.1 micron) resolution. Hydrostatic slides are incorporated for improved stiffness, minimal friction, and low maintenance. The Model B+ will accept Model B tooling, including wheelheads and work fixtures. Advanced linear motors are used to reduce the maintenance cost. This machine features quick change between radius dresser and the straight dresser for changing quickly between grinding inner and outer bearing rings. The Model B+ has proven GE Fanuc 18i TB CNC system.
