Gladwyne Montessori School is seeking a Facilities Manager

The Gladwyne Montessori School, located in the western suburbs of Philadelphia, provides a vibrant and academically stimulating environment for two to fourteen year olds. Position Summary

The Facilities Manager functions as the professional-in-charge of ensuring successful delivery of facilities services which include building operations, security, health and safety within the school environment. This role includes both administrative and direct labor functions. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance performance and scheduling, procuring competitive work estimates, managing sub-contractors, executing work orders, monitoring and maintaining building and grounds, coordinating maintenance projects and supervising summer maintenance staff.

Qualifications

· College degree preferred. A high school diploma or GED is required

· A minimum of five years of related experience is required, preferably in an educational setting

· Aptitude for administration, management, construction, mechanical equipment, landscaping, computer usage, purchasing, supervision, security and general services

· Ability to operate standard custodial and grounds-keeping equipment

· Strong written and oral communication skills

· Ability to communicate effectively with all constituents in a school environment

· Knowledge of O.S.H.A. and E.P.A. requirements and the ability to routinely follow those guidelines and requirements
