3. Thermal analysis of particles synthesized with different S/N ratios

Figure S3. TG analysis results of the as-prepared particles with different S/N ratios. A) TG curves; B) DTG curves. The experiment was carried out in nitrogen with a rising temperature rate of 10oC/min. The particles were prepared with a fixed M/N ratio of 10 mol.%.

4. The morphology of particles with the dismantled shell

Figure S4. SEM image with the larger visual fields of the broken particles prepared with a M/N ratio of 5 mol.% and a S/N ratio of 5 mol.%.

5. Dependence of particles morphology on M/N ratios

Figure S5. The morphology of particles prepared with a fixed S/N ratio of 5 mol.% and different M/N ratios: A) 20 mol.%; B) 30 mol.%.

6. The dependence of particles shape on dispersed solvents

Figure S6. SEM images of the as-prepared particles from different solvents: A, D) toluene; B, E) 95% ethanol; C, F) water. The particles were prepared with a M/N ratio of 10 mol.% and a S/N ratio of 10 mol.%.

Figure S7. TEM image of particles soaking lead acetate. Since lead acetate diffused into polymer cores, the cores became blacker than their shells. The sample was prepared as below: particles were dispersed into 10 mL toluene, and then two droplets of lead acetate solution in ethanol were added into the system. After shaking 10 minutes, one droplet of solution was dripped onto the cupper grid coated with carbon for measuring by TEM.
